This was wrong, so, so, so wrong. We were going to get in trouble, maybe even killed! Livy didn't care, she was to ten feet ahead of me. There was a cold breeze whistling through the trees that added a eerie chill to the already eerie night. We weren't supposed to be here and we both knew it, that's why we were doing it.

"Livy, slow down. You have longer legs than me" I said loud enough for her to hear and jogged up to her side. She was sweeping the flashlight across the ground, searching for something. "Coulden't we just smell them? Your dad said they were traveling in a group" I gulped. My best friend didn't respond at first, keeping her eyes glued to the rocky ground.

"It's to windy to get a good enough smell. And this place"s wreaks of our pack" She said and I took a deep smell. She was right. Usually Livy was happy-go-lucky and scatterbrained but she was determined. I was scared.

We were breaking the rules, and I wasn't much of a rule breaker. I usually stayed quiet and minded my own business but there was something about the idea of seeing Steel Parker--the Steel Parker--that compelled me to break the rules just this once. But I was regretting it already. Instead of just taking a quick peek we'd plunged deep into the woods, completely venerable.

Livy and I's parents thought we were tucked away in her room under the supervision of some guards but we'd snuck out when they fell asleep on the couch watching Night At The Museum. It was easy, we just took our shoes off and slid across the wood floor till we reached the door and waited for the volume to spike. For wolves, they didn't have the best of hearing.

"So, can you smell your father?" I asked quietly and gripped the back of her shirt. She laughed at me and we walked deeper, her leading the way. My cheeks flushed a bit but I kept walking since Livy didn't take notice. Lately my senses had been off, like I was weak, and my wolf had been distant. Livy was the only one i'd told.

She was the Alphas daughter so I knew she she'd never understand my problem. Her silence had almost convinced me it hadn't happened to anyone. But Livy didn't stay quiet for long.

"No. It smells like..peppermint" She turned and looked at me, her dark brown eyes careful and unsure. "Peppermint? Whats so weird about that?" I asked and saw a shadow cross behind her. "Livy!" I gasped and she turned, and another one passed. "Stay calm" She whispered and pulled me closer. Livy got into a offensive position, while I dumbly looked around.

There was movement behind me and I snapped around so hard I almost got whiplash. "Olivia Ann Morgan, what are you doing?" A deep voice rumbled from behind us and we both turned in shock. We were both expecting Steel and his men, not our fathers and brothers. "Sage! What..why?" My Dad asked in shock and walked our from behind Alpha Morgan. He looked so much softer against his Alpha, but he was still abnormally strong.

"I told you to stay at the house. Your mother.." Alpha Morgan shook his head. He was almost screaming, but Livy didn't seem to notice. I was shrinking back behind her, my head ducked down low. "You know the sensitivity of this situation, Olivia. And you bring Sage? You're not only putting yourself at risk, but her as well" He barked and my Dad put his hand on his shoulder. I could see my brother, Jason, glaring at me from beside Dad.

He'd come down to our pack for this reason, being the Beta of his own in Northern Kansas. I could see disappointment in both of their eyes as they looked at me and I shrank back. "We wanted to see him, Dad. We can take care of ourselves" She said firmly but I saw her hand shake before she shoved it into her pocket.

She looked back and our gaze met. She knew I coulden't, not at the moment at least. My stomach twisted in nots and I gasped as everyone raise their noses. I pretended I smelled something too and raised my nose. "Get Livy and Sage back to the house, now!" Alpha Morgan yelled and we all noticed the urgency in his voice. Siam and Noah, two high school Seniors we knew jumped up and started steering us away until we were met by a growling blonde wolf.
