Chapter 1: The Future from the Fortune Teller

KATHRYN'S POV

It is afternoon around 3 pm, I walked on the street with my pretty and blooming best friend Ashley, then suddenly stood at the gate of the church.  We saw from outside that the mass was finish and waited for awhile to let people pass at the door's area.  We walk slowly going inside and prayed. Although, I and my friend is not that religious but we also prayed and have faith to Almighty God.

After we prayed, we walked going out from the church and I saw an array of vendors and at the end part was an old women fortune teller sitting alone leaning on a small table. She dressed a sleeve look elegant dress made from a  red and black stitch art in spark beads with a long red skirt and holding a different type of printed art drawing cards. The fortune teller I saw took my attention and I get my friend Ashley towards in front of the fortune teller. Just to let know if Ashley believes to a fortune teller.  I whispered " Ashley, Do you want to know your future man? That fortune teller might tell you about him. Do you want to try it?".

" Yes, I want to try it. " said Ashley, "How about you Kathryn?"

"Nope." I said.

" I will try it if you also try after me. Please Kath" Ashley was begging me.

" What ? Are you kidding? You know me right, and I never believe to a fortune teller. Even though  i try it, I still don't believe on it. It's up to you if you believe on it, that's why I ask you if you want." I replied.

"Kathryn, you're over acting. Let's try it  okay. It can't cause harm.Please let's try it, just only this time and you have just said that you never believe on it so it's okay for you to try, it just depend on you if you believe" said Ashley holding my wrist and pulled me into the front of a table of the fortune teller.

"Ah, Okay fine." I respond.

"Good morning Ladies, I am a fortune teller. How may I help you?" said by the fortune teller looking us seriously. 

" We would just like to know what will be our future." said Ashley seriously.

" Okay I'll help you. You can take your sits."

" Ahm, excuse me madame, where is the seats here?" asked Ashley.

" oh, I am sorry, I forgot to bring the seats." said the fortune teller placing the four cards in prone position at the table and aligning it. " Okay let me start now,  this cards sets is for you and as I open each card I will tell your future specially I know you are interesting about the man of your life." she added while looking and pointing on Ashley.

" Okay, go on, by the way how much do I pay you?" asked Ashley.

"Any amount." said fortune teller.

Without a doubt, Ashley tried it and then the fortune teller open the cards and then tell about the meaning of the chosen card into Ashley's future life and love life. After the cards, the fortune teller asked her to place Ashley's hand into her hands opened and the fortune teller look into her palm. She slides her thumb into Ashley's hand and tell about the meaning of it.

"Lady, You should always have a patience and value what you had to. I saw a good future for you. In terms of your love life,  your future man is somewhere around you, keep busy himself to in touched with you yet this man will love you but not really serious." said the fortune teller staring to Ashley.

"Are you sure on that madame?  Probably, you just kidding me.  But, you said my future man was just somewhere around me. Do you have an idea where I can find him?" said Ashley.

" As I told you earlier, have patience. When time comes, your man will be there to you soon. Lady, don't be too excited."

" Will, I am not excited for your information. I just wanted to know. But why does he will not love me seriously?"asked  Ashley.

"oh, I told you it depends on you if you will believed it or not. But me, I don't." I whispered to Ashley.

" Will, that man has a doubt on your capability to become his loved one. It depends on your values and discipline." replied from the fortune teller.

" Yes, that's right madame, discipline and values have a great part on her." I said.

" Nope, that's no true, I am a good girl."

"Are you sure on that Ashley?" I asked.

" Well, not really" she smiled. " okay, next, it's your turn Kathryn, let me know your future man. The luckiest man in the world." said Ashley while laughing.

I don't feel excitement or nervous about knowing my future because at first I don't believe anything come from a fortune teller unless if it's  happen in real life. But I still have to do this, my friend annoyed me to try this and guess on the first place,  I'm the one introduced her on the fortune teller.

The fortune teller asked me to place my hand into her hands and then she looks my palm and after was opening and symbolizing the meaning of the cards, the same thing as the fortune teller did to Ashley.

" Madame, what is her future about and most especially love life?" asked Ashley with a smile.

"Will, you have a great future coming but you still need to overcome a serious problem about an important person of your life. She will suffered a serious long term disease." said seriously by the fortune teller and stared to my eyes.

" Oh my God  Kathryn, she referring to your Grandma, right?" asked Ashley with a lonely face.

"Important person of my life? Serious long term disease? No, it's not true. Unbelievable. My grandma? Why she will suffer, I mean she is healthy and I see no problem in terms of her health. This is a joke, right. I will not believe on it, okay." I said

" I don't mind if you think it is a joke but I will just give insights of your life and the people around you is included and it is my job as a fortune teller. Will to tell you, there might be no problem at her time before or today but we don't know maybe tomorrow or in some other day but the possibility is big. Besides of that great problem of  you, you are still lucky because there is a man who will help you to relieved your worried and sadness. He will help you grandma but there are conditions on it and that you will find out when you get matured enough. I know you are still young but when you get 20's and up, you will realize it and make a very important decision that will change your life. And maybe you can mention that what am I telling you now is true. " said the fortune teller looking at me seriously.

"Okay madame thank you, I guess it's enough already. Here is the money." I said immediately after she finished and I pulled Ashley walking away from the fortune teller.

I  am shocked on what I know, I said to myself that I will never believed on it. But why I feel worried most especially about my grandma, she is the most important person in my life and all I know is she is a healthy person. I haven't heard her complaining with a serious kind of illness except common cough and colds, fever and headache. I need to focus and remove the information on my head about it awhile ago, I don't understand myself, seems the half of my brain tells me to believe it.

"Now  I regret it of why we went to the fortune teller and let her say something wrong about us." I said to Ashley as we walk going back home.

" Kathryn, I know you are worried about it. But she said somebody will help you and that is your man of your life." said Ashley.

" Ashley, I don't mind of the man who will save us what I am thinking about was my grandma," I said. " Oh, Kathryn, stop thinking about it. She is not a God. She just lying. Okay?" talking to myself. " Ash, can we just change topic. I don't want to think and talk about it anymore, okay? And you know, I  already set my mind to believe only to reality and God only knows about future life and nothing else." I replied, continue walking getting near to the gate of Ashley's house.

"okay, fine but I am still believed about my prince charming." she said while raising her left eyebrow.

" No comment." I joke and smile. " Ah, by the way Ashley tomorrow Monday, I will be on the flower shop because grandma will deliver the ordered flowers to her costumers at the province. You  know tomorrow, our flower shop will have more income because it's valentines day and it expected that more consumers will be visiting our shop." I said.

" So you mean you will not going to attend the program tomorrow on our school. Attendance tomorrow is a must and it's  a whole day event." said Ashley.
