Chpater 5

Dani left shortly after Brian. AJ decided to clean her house and go grocery shopping because that was something she normally did on Sundays but because she was hanging out with Brian tomorrow, she decided to do it today. She went to bed early that night. At around 3 in the morning AJ heard her phone vibrate on her nightstand. She sighed with frustration and sat up. She turned on the light and looked at her phone. It was a message from Brian asking if she was awake. She texted back yes and two minutes later he was calling her.

''Hello?", AJ answered.
''Are you sleeping?", Brian asked. AJ knew something was up because Brian sounded frustrated.
''I was but what's up? Is everything alright? You sound upset.'', AJ asked concerned. There was a 30 second pause before Brian started.
''It's Michelle. When I went to see River she was there and everything was fine but as soon as we got home she started a war with me. She thinks that we are a couple and that I shouldn't be with you while I'm still married. Then she started calling you names which is fucked up because she don't know one fucking thing about you and she thinks that your just trying to get with me because of who I am and for my money. I can't handle being in the same house as her anymore.'', Brian said getting worked up.
''Alright, just calm down. Your right, she doesn't know anything about me which is why she wouldn't know that I don't care if you're Synyster Gates or not. Plus I make more than enough to live comfortably without anyone's help. So she can say whatever she wants and as for her telling you that you shouldn't be dating me... One that's none of her business and two, was she not the one who cheated on you.  Just wait until I see her again, me and her are going to exchange a few words. Who does she really think she is being a bitch towards me? Like I was nice to her.'', AJ rambled getting her own self frustrated.  She heard Brian laughing on the other line.
''What's so funny?", AJ snapped.
''Chill woman. I call you because you make me feel better and you get all  worked up.'', Brian said continuing to laugh. AJ realized how funny she probably sounded and started laughing at herself.
''Well at least I got your mind off her.'', AJ said.
''That's why I called you. You take my mind off of bad things like her.'', Brian explained.
"Glad I could be of service sir. I hate to sound like I don't want to talk to you but it's like 3 in the morning.  Can I go back to sleep?", AJ asked yawning.
''Oh yeah. Sorry. Good night Ariel.'', Brian said.
''Good night Brian.'', AJ said and they both hung up the phone and AJ went back to sleep.

AJ woke up at 9 to Dani going through her drawers.

''Where's that cute white tank top with the gold dangling things on it?'', Dani asked.

''In the closet. On the right.'', AJ said sitting up. Dani came back out of the closet with the top on.

''Perfect. How do I look?", Dani asked while looking in the mirror next to the closet door.

''Good. Hey can we talk?", AJ asked.

''Sure. What's up dolly?", Dani asked sitting on the bed next to AJ.

''You cannot judge anybody or anything with what I'm about to tell you.'', AJ said'

''OK?", Dani said confused.

''So Brian is still married. They're separated and they're in the middle of a divorce and I'm not sure if I want to do anything until they're officially divorced.'', AJ explained.

''He's still married!?!?", Dani yelled getting off the bed.

''AJ why do you always go for the jerks or the taken? Why can't you just find a guy who likes you for you and not your money? A guy who will protect you and makes sure he does everything in his power to make you happy. A guy who supports who just as much as you support them. A guy who may not be perfect but he's perfect for you. '', Dani asked.
