The Coin

The table is set for a dinner; and it starts with a prayer.
Filling the plates, glass filled with water.
Everyone starts eating their meal, so tender.
So on, a conversation begins and gets deeper.

A family living in squatters.
Taking their breakfast early to bring their boy with fever in the hospice, unforeseen a man enters the house!
His name Escar.
He pulled his pistol caliber; from his holster!
He locks the door and all the windows.
To get his wife living with her uncle because of fear with her husband that is always been high on drugs.

But then Escar looking to the boy suffering with high fever and suddenly makes him quite; remembering his son for a while.
And he allows the mom to bring her son in hospice.
But the mom asks another, to bring her husband; he insist!
So, the mom carries her son and brings her two daughters.
Escar and his wife, and his uncle stayed in the house.

Escar commands his wife to get the pistol caliber of her uncle upstairs.
And she gets it loaded with complete set of magazines.
He commands his uncle, 'cuff yourself!' His uncle insists and suddenly he pulled the trigger, twice!
The wife outside the house heard and get nervous with the SWAT team planning to get inside.

And so on, he cuffed himself as commanded but not so tight.
Escar notices, without hesitation he pulled the trigger, luckily again the bullet slip into another side but too close with it.
The negotiation goes on, too long.
Until suddenly came into his mind to play a game, toss a coin.
If its head,he will kill his uncle; if its tail he will kill himself!
He starts tossing, the coin slowly flipping and fell.
It flipped to a tail.

Escar commands his uncle to turn back and don't look while the SWAT team is in position at the windows and at the door.
He puts his caliber into his head and the another caliber in his mouth; he pulled it together!
Blood flooding in the floor..
His wife shouts and his uncle shocks and slowly open the door.
The long arm rifles directly site to him but he raises his hands with a cuff, immediately his name shouted by his brother.
The SWAT identify his name;
the team is clearing the area.

As everyone is almost done with their meal; the son stands, walks, and stays in the open old cabinet.
A coin fell from his pocket.
He sees old newspapers as he gets the coin.
There are pictures of headlines, and his father calls him.
Immediately, keeps the old newspapers inside.
While flipping the coin.
