A harsh ringing wakes me up from my deep slumber. I don't have to read it to know who it is. I growl loudly and pick it up. "Bryan, this better be important, as in a matter of life and death, else I am coming for your neck." Silence. "Forgive me, Alpha. But a human was found hurt and unconscious at the Sothern most border and......she's in need of more than what Jason can provide for her." I sit up. "Was she attacked?" I get up and grab a button up, pulling it over my shoulders. "No scent of rouges or any wolves, other than her own scent." I nod and freeze, she's another wolf. This could pose and issue but my main focus is getting her alert enough to talk to us. "How urgent?" A sigh is my reply. "Have spare clothes ready, I'm running." I hear him talk to who I presume is Elizabeth, his mate and suddenly her voice is on the line. "Forgive me for the intrusion, Alpha, but I have an update, she has shifted and is now fading in and out of consciousness."

I hang up and strip down, running through my back door and running towards the woods. Come on, Wren, it's time! I holler in my mind and am greeted with a loud howl. I jump and my body changes in mid air. When  I land, my body goes as fast as it can, under Wrens instructions. What a night. It's not even sunrise and I am needed. But it is an Alpha's responsibility to take care of her pack. That is why the moon goddess blessed us with powers not even the medicine wolf have. We each have a role, mine is to lead and defend, to train the young and make sure we are strong enough to pass the winter. I clear my mind and feel the air rush though my fur, howling to let my pack know I am close. Before I know it, I can see the path to the pack house. I run straight through the open door straight to the infirmary. I stop and let out a bark. The door automatically opens and I slowly walk in. The smell of blood, both stale and fresh, is enough to turn my stomach.

I follow my nose to the back room, the surgery room. I push the door open and walk in. "Alpha, she's changed back, but there was strain. If we do not hurry, we will lose her." Jason says, getting up from the bed. I walk to the bed and jump on my hind legs to look at her. My breath gets caught in my throat immediately. It's her. It's Ruby Rose. My stomach tightens for some reason and I shake my head to clear it and hop on the bed, laying against her as much as I can. I growl and Jason leaves. I clear my mind and change into a form everyone is forbidden to see. My bones crack and form, my fur shorten and I grimace, remembering the first time seeing this, my father held me and walked me through what this meant and how I was supposed to use this power. I get closer, and wrap my arms around her, her breathing is shallow. I close my eyes and shift from my mortal mind into the celestial mind, connecting to her mind to bring her with me. a blinding light blinds me and I see things focus. We are in a meadow, and many colored eyes look at us from the woods.

And, why, young Alpha, have you brought us this wolf? She is almost at her journeys end. I lay her in the grass and look down at her face, pushing her hair our of her eyes. "I-I don't know. I mean, she is a celebrity, many people will wonder where she went." A raspy chuckle makes my look up, a dark brown wolf with the same eyes as me, deep forest green is walking towards the girl. I move around to block his path. "Forgive me father but that is close enough." He smiles and shows his fangs. My daughter, she will returning home, under one condition.  I nod. You mustn't under any condition allow her to continue being a lone wolf.  I nod again and look  down at her her face seems so peaceful. I nod to myself  and bend down to pick her up and walk back to the entrance of the meadow, feeling my fathers eyes on my back. I close my eyes and feel myself returning. I open my eyes and look down. I have naturally transitioned into my wolf form. I lay my head on her shoulder and close my eyes until I start to feel her stir.

She turns to me and holds onto me, making me let out a breath of relief. I  start to get up but her grip tightens. I pull back enough to study her face. She's just as stunning as her pictures. I let out a small whine and Jason come in with a bowl of water and clothes. He sets it all on the dresser and leaves. I force myself out of her arms and change back, dressing quickly. It is tradition n for the alpha to clean the one they brought to the celestial realm, seeing as we took them to a place that they would never have the chance to go any other way. I grab the bowl and head into bathroom and grab a wash cloth. I walk out and see her, she's awake. Our eyes connect and the air inside my lungs gets ripped out, it feels like the ground has come out from under my feet. She freezes too and suddenly, I get flashes in my mind of her and I, doing different things. Going out to eat, going to the park, sitting in her living room. And just like that, everything has returned to normal. We both take a huge gasp of air and I drop the cloth, falling to my knees and hands. using one to clutch my chest. Jason and Bryan run in and Jason is by my side, trying to get me to tell him what happened. I look up at Ruby and back to him, breathing hard and smiling. "I finally found her." He helps me up and to the bed. Pack alert, the Luna has been found! I hear whooping and howling. Ruby smiles at me.
