I had a "common" week.
It's Monday today and I am not happy about school. Only every Monday though. Why? Because Monday is the day my teachers gives surprise quizzes! Actually, it's not a surprise anymore, because it happens every Monday.
"Margaret, this is your test! I want to see a grade above D-." Mrs. Hakkins said as she hands me the English test.
"Excuse me, Mrs. Hakkins. I wouldn't get a D- if you could grade my paper an A+," the students laughed. "And every test too." She went all crazy and said, "Pay attention! You! Margaret, go to the principal's office. Now!" This is nice. I walked out the classroom door and went to the office.
"Ms. Margaret Stone, what'd you do this time?" Mr. Hannigan asked me as he cleans his glasses.
"Ms. Georgina Hakkins told me to get a grade above D-. Then I told her that just grade my paper A+ so no problem. The students then laughed at my statement. And so she get mad and sent me here." I told him.
"Well, if that's it, I will...um..send you back to class. Anyway, there won't be no practice today 'til tomorrow." He said with a small smile that has a combination of a frown and a smirk. What?
I went back to class and to my surprise, it's done! And I am completely excuse. Yes.
I met up with my friends Maya and Lizzie in Math class. Thank you, it's Math time. "Hello, Margaret." They both said. "Yeah, hello too guys." I was being cool because I always am.
Math class was a blast. Our quiz turned into a game, as always. First one to answer, got one step forward. And if you reached the tile until Ms. Martha Evans, you get a gold star! So, I got 2 stars. "Nice job, Margaret." Lizzie said. Maya smiled like a smiling leaf, of course because that makes sense. We walk through the cafeteria to eat our lunch. I got a ham sandwhich, a bottle of orange juice and some fruit salad. Yum!
"So, who was the winner of yesterday's singing contest?" I asked. Maya raised her hand up. She won yesterday. I bet she sang...um...umm...mmm..Girl on Fire!
"I sang GIRL ON FIRE!" My hunch was right. Mind reader strikes again. I am not really reading minds of people as so you know. It was just a hunch. "Sing some lines, Maya." I said. And she sang. After that, people clapped except Penelope Griffin. The popular blond girl who we hate. I mean, she is always boastful how her father owns our apartment. But my dad also owns the half of it. And we are related! Okay, sometimes I like her. Sometimes.
After school hours, I went home to our apartment. As I walked in, my mom told me, "Why on earth did you go to the office again? You answered your teacher in the wrong manner. Don't do that again will you?" (She answered her own question.) I nodded.
I went to my room just beside the kitchen and looked for my diary. "Dad! Where's my diary?" I asked my dad.
"Check the "portal" under your bed." And by portal, he means just under my bed. But I don't want to. There are lot's of stuffs under my bed. I gave up. I went outside our apartment to go to Penelope's place.
I knocked on their door and Mrs. Griffin opened it. "Hello, Margaret. Penny is not here. She is at Jade's house." I nodded and said, "Okay, Mrs. Griffin. I'll come back tomorrow." Penny is sometimes, "nice". Only to me and her friends like Jade and Andrea. I left the building and went to the park with my bike. I saw Jade and Penelope.
"Hi, Jade. Hi, Penny." I said.
"Hi Margaret!" Jade smiled at me. Penny waved then smiled at me. That's right, smile. We played at the park for an hour or 2. Then I went home. It's already 6:30 PM. I ate dinner with my family and went to bed. I slept comfortably. Sort of. This day is just common.
