"It's a day I'd rather block out. A day of trauma, loss, and death. You don't know who I'm talking about, do you Vex?" Ariea said, reminiscing of what once was "No" Vex replied in a soft sympathetic tone. "Then let's start from the beginning shall we?"
The day was May 15th, 2017.
Ariea woke up to what seemed a normal day, oh how naive she was, well what else would you expect from a 13 year old girl. It was a stormy day in Etheria, boring, uneventful, young Ari expected to help her sister Lady Gemma, the Element of Water with a few things around the castle and nothing else, oh how she was wrong. Hours passed of Ari floating, doing simple tasks for her sister.
12:30 pm
That's when they heard screaming and then pounding at the door. A panic stricken guard runs up to Gemma telling her Maura Glacies, The evil queen of the Ice kingdom, was attacking, and her eldest daughter, Ion, wasn't far behind. Gemma knew this was a formulated attack. And she knew Ventri and Tragedy would likely follow suit. "Ari, I need you to go into your room and lock the doors-" More pounding and the sound of splintering wood "And HIDE, You can do that for me, right sis?" Ari nodded, a look of horror on her face, and then ran quickly to her room, locking herself inside. She heard her sister scream "GATHER ALL THE GUARDS AND CALL REINFORCEMENTS FROM ASTRID SPECTRUM, AND ECHOS," "But-" "DO IT" Gemma never called on reinforcements.. Ari hid under her bed and cried. Gemma was using everything she had while also leaning on other guards from other dimensions.
1:45 pm.
Ari had been hearing it all, she was worried. She crawled from under her bed, tears streaking her face. Quietly walking downstairs, Then she saw what she could only describe as chaos. She looked on as her sister, who never backed down, walked onto a pedestal, with her hand raised, summoning any and all energy she had left. Despite being young, Ari still knew something like this would kill her.
1:50 pm
The world stood still. Just as Gemma let the power go, she was also hit with an ice attack from behind. Ari looked on, in shock, the blast weakened the enemy enough to were they were pushed into open portals by the blast. Ari watched on in horror, watching the life leave her sister's face as the world went in slow motion and her sister gracefully fell backward. "NO" The first words to leave Ari's mouth as she ran to her sister's side, cradling her head in her lap. At 1:58 pm, May 15th, 2017 Lady Gemma Lorena Rivergate of Etheria, was pronounced dead, after using the last of her magical energy and life force to fend off the attackers Queen Maura Glacies of Frost Provinces, Ion, Ventri and her army from Ventus, Tragedy, and many guards. Her Elemental title is passed down to her young, 13 year old, sister, Lady Ariea Quilling Rivergate, who still proudly holds this title to the present day.
"That's it, that's the story of my sister's death" Ariea said, her voice breaking. "Ari..I'm sorry" Vex said as she pulled her friend into a comforting hug.
