Attack
My mother is more than a mother. She's too observant in many things, especially to me. Too observant that sometimes it scares me.
Am I missing something? What didn't I noticed?
I've been checking my face, my teeth, my back.
My mother's words made me worried all of a sudden.
Most days, I live like I don't have it but now, I'm anxious. Mikyoxema is still a deadly and untreatable disease.
Death is my only way out of it. Kahit anong pilit kong mamuhay ng normal wala pa ring silbi iyon, walang saysay.
A tear fell from my eye. It's not worth it. Everything I did wasn't worth it.
A knock on my door interrupted me.
He's still wearing his face mask and purple gloves.
"It's dinner. Why are you still here?" Seryoso ang mukha niya.
"Uh.." Hindi ko alam ang isasagot ko.
Ayokong sumabay sa kanila kasi madami sila. I think my presence would scare the others. Ayoko namang mailang sila sakin.
"I.. I'm not hungry," palusot ko.
Tumaas ang kilay niya. His staid gaze lingered on my face.
Oh, my god. He sounded adorable with his trying voice.
"Cute," I murmured. I'm sleepy.."
I stretched my arms and pretended like yawning.
"You're not comfortable with us." sigurado niya saad.
Bumuntong hininga siya. "Many years of just you and your mother, I won't expect you to be comfortable with us but atleast, try. You can't even face us, how can you face the rest of the world?"
I sighed heavily.
"It's not like that, Worth," I almost whispered.
Umangat ako ng tingin sa kanya. "What if they don't like me?"
His face softened and smiled a bit. He slightly brushed my cheek.
I noticed he likes doing that.
"They will, once they get to know you. How innocent and brave you were, sweet rose." he said like he knew a long time ago.
