justin stared down at his shoe clad feet. his toes were freezing despite the thick boots. he wrapped the jacket around his torso trying to find warmth. the wind was wipping around his fringe getting it all over the place. "sorry babe. I didn't mean to take so long." jason stepped out of his apartment building. he wrapped an arm around justin's waist and lead him to his car. "y'know how room mates can be."
justin chuckled and shook his head. "ryan isn't such a bad guy. he's.. interesting." jason rolled his eyes playfully and opened the car door for justin before going around the car and getting in himself. "so where are you taking me?" justin asked hoping jason won't be a pain and keep him guessing.
"it's a surprise babe." jason winked and started the car. justin whined in his seat and slumped down crossing his arms across his chest pouting.
"you know how much I hate surprises." he groaned. Jason chuckled and shook his head. he couldn't believe the way justin was acting. the 21 year old reminded him of a 12 year old.
"ok I'll tell you. I'm taking you for a 2 day get away for our anniversary." jason said and intertwined his fingers with justin's. justin furrowed his eyebrows. there anniversary isn't for another 2 weeks.
"anniversary? isn't it on the 13?" he asked while playing with jason's fingers.
"I'm glad you know when our anniversary is. but no, it's been exactly a month since I asked you to marry me and you said yes." justin cooed teasingly. "shut up and buckle up." jason laughed.
the two boys started singing along to the radio on their way to the destination. they were headed to the mountains and stay at a cabin. jason had it all planned out. making sure it was perfect for their weekend together. it wasn't snowing since it snowed 2 nights ago. the roads were clear of ice. some streets were filled with black ice but other then that it was safe to drive.
after an hour of driving and the singing had died off, the car was silent. the only noise you could hear was the constant ringing from justin's phone meaning he had a text. jason wasn't too worried about it since he could be texting his mum or sister, but when justin would laugh a bit and that constant ringing. he lost it. "who keeps texting you?" jason asked while glancing at justin then turning his attention back on the road.
"it's derek." he laughed once more while glancing at the text. jason grabbed justin's phone and threw it behind him. "what was that for?" justin asked irritated.
"look i get derek's your friend and all but I don't like it when you text him." jason confessed.
"what? you're jealous of derek? he's my stepbrother. isn't that like incest or something?" justin grumbled.
"incest is when you're related to them, you're not related." he informed justin. "it's not like you haven't done it with him before." jason added under his breath.
"excuse me? what did you say?" justin asked turning around in his seat to face jason.
"nothing. nothing. I just thought you would've stopped talking to him because of last time." jason shrugged continuing down the road. justin removed his seat belt and leaned over the console to retrieve his phone.
"derek is my step brother. I can't just ignore him. I grew up with him. he's practically my brother." justin defended.
"that didn't stop you from sleeping with him." he scoffed and rolled his eyes. "thought you had some respect for yourself." he shrugged. before any of the two could answer jason stepped on the breaks his hands flying to the side to protect justin who was already flying forward.
jason honked at the idiot who cut him off and pulled aside on the road. he took a few deep breaths letting his breathing normalize and his heart beat to stop beating so fast. he looked over at justin who didn't look any better. "are you ok?" jason asked.
