I remember that night like a never ending nightmare. It hunts me in my dreams, it hunts me when I'm awake. I can't control it. On that very night I lost everything. I lost everyone I ever loved and most of all...I lost myself. It was a very hard winter. The wind tried to blow us away, and the snow tried to bury us alive. We were escaping, from the cold-blooded government of Atilla, the kingdom of Winter. We tried to make it over to the Kingdom of Spring. Where we will be safe. Where we can seek help. I held my mom's hand and my little brother's, while dad held Mom's hand. I was so cold, shaking from head to toe. Dad noticed right away, and we stopped. He took off his coat and put it around me. "There. This should keep you warm." He said and smiled.

I smiled back, and we continued. The weather became worse as we continued, as if it didn't want us to make it. I think after some time I lost track of time. Suddenly I felt my brother's hand leaving mind. "Aku!" I yelled. Mom and Dad heard me and ran to him. Mom held him in her arms. He was cold, and shaking badly. Mom turned to look at dad, who looked at her worried. Then they turned to Aku. He stopped shaking. He froze, the ice starting to cover his body. "NO! Aku!" I screamed. Dad hurried to me, putting his hands on my shoulders. "Katia, we have to keep going, for Aku!" He said, tears falling down his eyes. I started to tear up too. Dad and mom hurried to bury Aku in the snow, while I wasn't looking. Because I couldn't. I couldn't believe Aku is gone.

After we buried him, we didn't even get to say goodbye, dad caught me and mom and forced us to continue walking. We were all crying, the pain was unbearable. Aku shouldn't have died. I should've died. As we continued walking, it seemed like hours, days, years. And suddenly mom fell on the ground. "Helena!" Dad yelled. "Mom!" I screamed. Mom raised her head slowly to me. "My precious Katia. You and your father must go on. I'll be fine, I promise. But you'll have to continue without me." She said. Tears ran down my face. "Mom..." I mumbled, and hurried to hug her. She hugged me back, then turned to father.

"Allen, please keep Katia safe. That's all I ask" she said. Dad teared up and hugged her. "I promise." He said. He went and grab my hand, and we both started to walk, leaving mom behind. This walk felt like eternity. My legs hurts. My heart ache. I'm hungry and tired. But me and father must keep going... Where are we even going? We walked for days, and we haven't seen any border, or any city on our way. Suddenly, dad fell to the ground. "Father!" "Katia!" We both screamed. I looked at dad, bleeding from his chest. A big shard of ice is cutting through hid chest.

"Daddy..." I started to cry. Dad looked around, and that's when he saw them. The knights of winter, riding their crystal horses towards us. Dad turned to me. "Run! Katia, Run!" He screamed. "But-" "Run!" He yelled at me. With no choice I turned around and ran away, leaving him behind. I only turned my head to see the knights circling him, and a heavy smoke appears around them, making them all disappear. I continued to ran without any breath, no energy left in my body. I'm exhausted, and I just can't go on. I fell on the ground right on my face. Split opening my nose, and starting to bleed badly. The pain is awful. My legs are burning. I'm so cold. I'm trying to crawl, because I have to go on. I promised dad. I promised mom. I promised Aku. 

The snow is too strong and heavy, and I'm freezing in my place, being covered by snow, being buried alive. In this very moment I knew: I was alone, and this is the end.

I'm slowly opening my eyes. I can't move my legs, or my hands. I'm frozen in place. As everything starting to look more clear, I'm starting to look around. The room I'm in looks like a lab. There are a couple tubes with water in them right infront of me, and a big computer on the other side of the room. There are bodys in the tubes but I don't recognize them. I kept looking around till my eyes met my feet. My skin color was white as snow. 'This is impossible' I thought. I slowly moved my hands up, raising them high enough so I can see them. Even here my skin is completely white, and strange white smoke is coming out of them. It feels so cold. But I'm not feeling cold. I hurried to touch my hair, it is shorter than I remembered. I moved a bit of it to look at it. My hair is white, too! 'What's happening to me?' I thought. I started to stress. This isn't normal. I shouldn't be even alive! Am I... alive?

I raised my hands and placed them on the tube's wall in front of me, starting to hit it. "Let me out!" I screamed. It doesn't look like anybody heard me. "Let me out!" I screamed louder. That's when the Lab's door opened up, and a man in a white suit and a mask walked in. He looked around till he laid his eyes on me, I could tell that he was looking in my direction. "Oh, patient zero six eight. Our only survivor, our newest knight of winter." He said, as he appeared right in front of me. "What? Knight of Winter?! No! I am not a knight of Winter! Let me out!" I screamed. The worst just happened. I became the very thing that killed my family. I became a knight of winter.
