Shadows in the Forest (Haikyuu au)

Daichi POV

For the next couple of days we alternated staying in the village and at our cabin. It was fun trying to explain what a refrigerator was to Suga. Suga tried to help me read one of his books in Latin, but we gave up after 3 hours of getting no-where.

Before we knew it we had one more day until we had to leave. I really didn't want to leave Suga behind, but I needed to finish collage. Maybe I could take him back with me. 

It was our last night on the island. We were staying at our cabin. Noya was inside Asahi's Jacket, Yamaguchi was in Tsukishima's lap, and Suga was on my shoulder. All three were asleep. Asahi, Tsukishima and I decided to stay up and talk about what we were going to do.

"Well, we can't leave them." Asahi said.

"Your right. We should take them with us." Tsukishima added, petting Yamaguchi's hair.

"Would their Chief allow that? I mean we broke the curse and all, but this is the only place they've known for what, 300 years?" I questioned.

They nodded, thinking about what we should do.

I felt Suga stir. I leaned down and planted a kiss on his forehead. There was no way I could leave him.

"Well, I think we should ask them in the morning when they wake up." Asahi said through a yawn.

"Ok. Well, it's getting late. We should go to bed."

The next morning arrived sooner than I thought. When I woke up Tsukishima was already awake and cradling Yamaguchi like a baby.

"Aww, someone has a soft spot." He glared at me.

Soon everyone was awake. We had to break the dreaded news now.

"Hey, Suga, Yamaguchi and Noya. Today is the day we have to leave and go back to Japan."

They stared at me with blank expressions. Noya then turned around and hugged Asahi tightly. Yamaguchi gave Tsukishima a kiss on the nose and smiled. Suga just curled up against me and closed his eyes.

"We were wondering if you would like to come with us back to Japan." I asked.

"Really!" Noya asked, turning to look at Asahi.

Then we heard a knock on the door.

"How are they here already? It's like 8 o'clock." Tsukishima said.

"Now, we have no idea how they will react to y'all. So, how about you go hide in the kitchen." They nodded and ran off.

(A/N The kitchen is not near the front door. And Nekomata is Nekoma's coach :/)

Tsukishima was already dressed so he got up to answer the door.

Asahi and I got dressed and walked into the entryway.

"Hello Mr. Nekomata. Give us a couple minutes to pack and we will be ready." Tsukishima said.

"OK. Well, I'm hungry. I'll be waiting in the kitchen."

A wave of panic washed over us.

"O-oh it's n-no problem. I-i'll get you something." Asahi said, starting to shake slightly.

"Oh, it's no trouble my boy." He started to walk to the kitchen.

I ran to the window. Outside I could see about 10 or so men and the boat that they came on. I was sure there were guns on that boat.

That's when we heard the scream.

Mr. Nekomata ran out of the kitchen.

"There's people in there!"

"We know. They're our friends." Asahi explained.

"H-how?" He looked like he had seen a ghost.

"Suga! Yamaguchi! Noya! Could you come out here please?" I yelled.

Slowly, they came from the kitchen they ran up to us, and got slightly behind us.

"B-but that's not p-possible." He stuttered out.

"But it is." Tsukishima deadpanned. Yamaguchi snickered.

"A-are t-there more?"

"Yes, but you have to promise to leave them alone." I said.

"Leave them alone? How? This is probably one of the most important scientific discovery's ever!" (IDK lol)

He stormed out of the house, running to his men. We all ran out behind him. The men were already starting to run into the forest.

"No! Stop!" Suga yelled.

"We need to get back and warn everyone." Noya said.

With that we set off, trying to beat certain death.

*Evil Laughter*

So, there will be one more chapter because we can't forget our baby Asahi's POV.

So, the ending won't be like 'Spirits' for those who are worried.
