It was 2004 when the young Asgardian was found by H.Y.D.R.A. agents who were pretending to be a part of S.H.I.E.L.D.
For years, the girl that scientists called A53 was experimented on. Because humans didn't know much about Asgardians, they assumed everyone from Azgard was godlike, since they had only read about heros like Thor. They were sadly mistaken. But, they still tried.
2 years. For 2 years A53 was injected with random liquids, mainly different electrolytes (liquids that can conduct electricity) then put into a machine similar to the electric chair. It would shock her with very few volts, then quickly increase until it became too much for her to handle.
2 years after this process began, something extraordinary happened. When A53 began to be electrocuted, she didn't flinch. The volts started to be raised, and slowly her eyes began to glow and turn yellow. Her hair turned golden blonde and began to float. Sparks popped from all over her body until lightning shot from her hands and killed one of the scientists. They quickly turned the chair off and she went back to normal, other than the color of her hair and eyes. They then began their next experiment.
