When I arrived from an assembly Sadie was nowhere to be found, and the initiates were cleaning a mess, that looked like a monster came thrashing about.
When I asked Cleo what happened, she said that a statue they were researching about came to life and escaped, so Sadie went after it.
I didn't chase after her because I had no idea where she was and I trusted her enough that she would come back alive.
She came back, as if she she was trampled by a pack of wolves, and didn't say a thing to to me about what happened.
I was doing my home work -because on top of running an entire nome and fighting demons, I now go to school and have additional work, but I'm okay with it.
I heard someone knock on my door so I stood up and opened the door to see Sadie, with an angry but calm face, I was surprised, I guess.
" You've been hiding things from me Carter"
She said, with narrowed eyes, then she went inside my room, not waiting for an invitation, and sat on my chair making herself comfortable.
Yup, that's my sister for you.
I closed the door and sat on my bed.
"What do you mean? "
I asked in a confused voice, she just raised her eyebrows and glared at me.
" Ah you know...... About the son of Sobek, and some new friend you made? "
I started to get nervous and feel guilty for not telling her about that.
I just couldn't tell her because I thought it was too dangerous.
" How did you know ?"
Was all I could say.
She furrowed her brows and rested her chin on her hand.
"So you weren't going to tell me?"
I sighed and told her about the boy that helped me beat the giant crocodile a couple of months ago,the thing about his un Egyptian sword, weird powers , the symbol I wrote and everything else.
She just listened and didn't react much as if she already knew - which might be true, but she was surprised, when I told her about him being able to make a hurricane.
"Huh, I knew you wouldn't have beaten the son of Sobek by yourself. " She said teasingly.
I smiled, now that she wasn't entirely radiating anger
" So how did you know about this......... Does it have something to do with what happened when you chased the statue?"
I asked, because I was really curious.
She took a deep breath and exhaled, then told me about her encounter with a girl and a weird lion, wolf , crab monster combination, inside a train , how the dog statue was a scepter together with the crab monster- of Serapis , about the Greek gods having children called demigods or half bloods, their fight with Serapis and Setne 's plans.
" And now I have an awesome Greek friend who lives in San Francisco."
Sadie said, finishing her recap of what happened this afternoon.
I was amazed that they didn't fight as much as Percy and I.
" And you calmly took this in?"
I asked her incredulous, she smiled and nodded.
"Of course carter. Why shouldn't I, when I can't do anything much about it? "
She replied, looking at me like I was crazy.
" And anyway-" she continued "It's better to be friends than enemies, and with Setne 's plans involving both of our worlds, we're gonna need to help each other. "
I frowned.
She was right, but it was still dangerous to even know about this.
"So are we gonna tell the others about this? "
I asked.
She shrugged and said.
" Maybe not yet - I mean there's no point worrying about something which we aren't gonna face yet. "
