Lucy's POV:
Lucy woke up frightened. She'd had a nightmare, again.
Last week, they had lost the war against the White Witch, and now the Pevensie children were all living in England again. Aslan was asleep on a large couch in the corner, breathing deeply. Lucy loved the sound. What would she do without it?
Tomorrow night, Aslan was leaving for the Golden Circus to hide, not from the White Witch, but from the human world. Lucy had forgotten all about the Golden Circus since the war. It had been years since she had been, but she would see it tomorrow. She would not let Aslan leave her.Aslan's POV:
Aslan woke up calm. After losing the war, he did not feel much of anything anymore. What more could he possible lose? Lucy was still asleep. Lucy was Aslan's favorite. She was the sweetest Pevensie child, and had chocolate brown eyes and grape colored lips. In Narnia, Lucy's smiles had brightened even the darkest days during the war. Aslan hoped that one day, he would see such a smile again. But he would not for a long time, not at the Golden Circus.
The Golden Circus animal trainer was coming in fifteen minutes, and Aslan still had to sneak past the Pevensie Aunt and Uncle to meet Peter in the backyard. He took one last fleeting glance at Lucy's egg white, oval face and slid out the door.
Peter was waiting for Aslan under the weeping willow tree. He looked tired. The animal trainer, a small man with a knee length beard, stood next to him, tapping his left foot impatiently. Aslan opened his mouth in greeting, but Peter shot him a frantic glance. Aslan had forgotten that animals in England did not talk.
"Well, is this the lion?"
Peter looked wearily at the trainer,
"Yes, obviously."
The trainer licked his lips,
"What do you want for him?"
Peter hesitated,
"We don't want anything for him, on one condition."
The trainer narrowed his eyes. Peter continued,
"When we ask for Aslan back, you'll have to give him back to us immediately. No questions asked."
Nodding excitedly, the trainer handed Peter the contract and whistled. A cloth covered cage was pulled into the yard by three orange men, all approximately three feet high.
"These," the trainer said, pointing to the tiny, bright men, "are my workers! They'll have him in London by tonight."
Peter ignored the tiny men and waved goodbye to the trainer. Aslan watched Peter as he walked away before going into his cage.Lucy's POV:
Lucy had hidden inside a round pillow cushion and rolled outside after Aslan had left her room. (For those who don't know, Lucy is a natural contortionist and can form a perfect sphere (among other shapes🤤) with her body🤭). Lucy hid in the bushes until the Golden Circus animal trainer arrived, and after the covered cage had been parked, she rolled inside. The cage was covered in a variety of blankets and pillows meant for Aslan. Aslan entered fifteen minutes later.
The tiny orange men followed him inside, carrying whips. They all screamed at Aslan and ordered for him to sit. Aslan retired quickly into the corner and the orange men left. Lucy decided it was time to unwind her circular body and say hello to Aslan.
"Hello, Aslan!"
The lion turned around.
"Lucy! What are you doing here?"
Lucy smiled,
"I would never leave you! We are going to join the circus together, Aslan!"
Aslan smiled, flashing his sexy, white teeth. Lucy smiled at the sight of them.
Aslan motioned for Lucy to come closer, and she rolled (once again forming a circular shape with her body) across the floor of the cage to meet him. After unraveling, Lucy crawled into the space between Aslan's front paws. Aslan nuzzled Lucy affectionately, and the little girl fell asleep sleep. It was the beginning.
