Come on Jimin you got this
Jimin thought to himself while stepping off the airplane. He had a firm grip on his carry on bag as he saw his first view of the foreign country.

This was it. His dream since he was little. To go to New York City to study dance. He just couldn't believe it was actually happening

Ok focus you have to get out of here before you get sappy
He told himself.
He walked out of the gate and around the airport following the signs that said baggage claim. He was beyond tired and hungry. But before he worried about his basic needs, he needed to find the two large bags he checked. Sooner than later he arrived in baggage claim. He was sitting, waiting for the bags to come out when he heard something

Something in Korean

Of course, his interest peaked. He didn't expect people to be speaking Korean so far away from Korea. He immediately turned his head in the direction of the familiar sounding words.

The people speaking was an elderly Korean couple arguing about which way to go. They clearly were struggling with the language barrier and couldn't read the signs directing the exit.

Jimin couldn't help but eavesdrop.

So he decided to walk over to them and ask if they needed any help. Clearly embarrassed, the woman asked for directions and Jimin didn't hesitate to give her them. Jimin thought the exchange was over so he started to walk away. That was when the woman asked him his name "Park Jimin" he said politely. The woman said her name and they stared talking. She asked him many questions about himself. Although Jimin wanted more than anything for the conversation to be over, he politely answered the questions and maintained small talk. The woman than told him why she and her husband were in New York City. "Im here to visit my crazy daughter and grandson. My grandson is staring college so apparently they need me around to help clean up and get him settled" the man chimes in at that last part. "And we were looking for an excuse to see them" the woman nods.
They're conversation is cut off by the alarm that goes off signaling the bags.

Thank God
Jimin thought to himself
He quickly said goodbye to the couple and speed walked over to his bags. He picked them up and followed the signs out of the airport.

He walked out of the airport searching for a taxi. The thought of getting into a stranger's car kinda scares him but he told himself that it would be the only way to get on campus. He quickly found an available taxi. He called it over and sat inside. The driver was a decent looking man that appeared to be in his mid twenties. Jimin told the driver the name of the university. The driver sighed and said that it was a bit of a drive but because he also went to that university, he would allow it.

They sat in silence for a couple of minutes as Jimin fixed his appearance. Not that he needed it.
The driver then started making small conversation. "So where are you from?" He asked looking in the mirror at Jimin. Jimin gave a slight smile and said "Korea" the driver looked shocked. "Really? That's so far away! Your English is pretty good!!" Jimin gave a nervous chuckle. "Heh yeah. I want to become a dancer and the dance program here is more likely to get me further. And because I knew coming to America was something I wanted to do, I focused on studying English to convince my parents to let me. " "So you moved all this way for dance?" The driver asked curiously not realizing how intrusive he sounded. "Yeah" Jimin said back. He didn't include that another reason he was in America was because gay marriage was legal here and not in Korea. If he would've told people that he was gay in Korea, it would be a disgrace. Whereas in America, it's seen as more normal.

Sooner or later the car arrives on campus. The man helps Jimin with his bags and drives off.

Jimin looked around. The charming old buildings, the busy street and campus that he had only seen in pictures was right in front of him. He took the campus map out of his coat pocket and followed it to freshman check in. Standing at the booth was a overly cheerful lady decked out in the schools merchandise. She handed Jimin the key card and his student ID and he walked to his dorm. Right when he walked in, a lady at a desk greeted him. "Hi! My name is Jisoo. I'm basically in charge of making sure this dorm doesn't blow up." Jimin looked at her and smiled, "Thank you. I'm P- uh Jimin Park" Jimin said giving a small bow on accident.
I have to learn to stop doing that
He thought to himself. His face turning a bright hue of pink as he walked to the elevator up to the third floor. In the elevator, there were different papers tapped up to the wall. Some being flyers for jobs and clubs and one was someones number with a note that said "hmu for a good time😏😉" Jimin scoffed at that one. Soon the elevator stopped at the third floor. He walked out to a halfway. It was in no means glamorous but it would be fine. He walked a short way to a door that read 305. That was his door. On the door had a few notice sheets that Jimin told himself he would look at later. He walked into the room. It was small but nice. There was two beds, desks, dressers, and a closet. He walked further inside and set his massive bags down. He looked at the beds and saw that the one on the right had been made and suitcases were on the desk. He figured that his roommate had already claimed it so he moved his stuff over to the left.

He was setting his stuff down when the door opened and a taller Korean man stepped inside with a coke in his hands. Jimin immediately turned around, saw the man which could only be his roommate and walked over. He bowed on accident and then said "안녕하세요 uh- sorry Hello I'm Pa- uh Jimin Park" Jimin silently cursed at himself. The man just chuckled and said, in Korean "It's ok, I'm Korean. My name is Kim Taehyung" Jimin smiled and said "Nice to meet you" Jimin looked the man up and down. He was really attractive. He was taller than Jimin with black curly hair that covered his dark brown eyes. His striking face and manly features cought Jimin off guard.

The two boys talked as they unpacked. Taehyung told Jimin that he lived in New York his whole life but his parents are from Korea and wanted him to learn the language. Jimin told him about how he moved for dance and to get a new start. Time flew and Jimin was glad that he had made a friend.

After all of their things were unpacked and put away. Taehyung asked if Jimin wanted to go to the start of term carnival. Jimin agreed, not wanting to miss out the opportunity to see the school and it's people.

Once they got the the carnival, Taehyung told Jimin that he was going to get food for the both of them and that he could just walk around a bit and they would meet back in 10 minutes. That's when Jimin saw the most beautiful man he had ever seen before.
