Ivy POV
I watched the edges of the picture burn. My hand shook as I dropped it in the garbage bin. The flames engulfed it until it was no more. There's no changing what I've done, what trouble it caused me. It was forever tainted in my brain. The scary part was I wanted to do it back then. When it happened, at first I was proud, happy even. Now look at where those decisions brought me. I was forever alone in a world full of evil. No one to trust anymore. There are only two kinds of people in the world now. The ones who fool others, and the ones who are fooled.
I picked up the letter that came along with that picture. In the center in big, bold writing, were the words: You can never run from what you did!
I choked on a sob. This will always haunt me. The front door creaked open and I glanced at it. There stood my best friend, Aria, in the doorway. Her wavy brown hair fell down her back. She had forest green eyes with a little brown around the pupil. She was beautiful and all the boys fawned over her, even with all the freckles scattered across her cheeks.
"Here is the fake passport you wanted," she said, raising it up to show me. I nodded and she placed it on the table in front of me. Aria looked at me with curiosity and questioned, " Why do you need a passport? Are you okay?"
"Do you trust me?" I asked as she nodded, "Then believe that it's something you don't need to know. You can't get involved. I will be fine as soon as I get out of here."
She nodded, but still looked as though she wanted to say something. Thankfully, she stayed quiet. I picked up the passport. My name was now Ivy Pierce. I packed the basic necessities: clothes, toiletries, and a credit card. That was it. No electronics because they could be tracked. I was not going to take any risks.
I took a cab to the nearest airport and went where ever the wind took me.
The airport was quiet at this time of day. I went through security without any problems and was now sitting, waiting for my plane. It was nerve-wracking. It felt as if someone was breathing down my neck. Somebody was watching me, I could sense it. However, I couldn't see anybody. No other person in this section of the airport noticed me. I doubt that anyone felt stalker-like today and decided to follow the nearest girl! Well, who knows how crazy people are these days.
