Allure

Sitting in Chemistry class was probably the last thing she wanted to do. No it would have been worse if she had to do stretches under the sun. That was consolation at least. Summer heat was definitely hard on people. Those who can avoid it are lucky, like teachers, who are not forced to stay under the sun and put the melanin in their skin to use.

She was taking down notes and coping everything on board, like a diligent student. Even the past fifteen minutes looked like eternity, um .... too much ... , looked like fifteen hours (yes, that's more realistic), she was determined to sincerely go through all the many fifteen minutes left, even if she discovered by the end of which she had turned into an old lady, she would pay attention in class. Using all the energy she could summon she kept on scribbling in her notebook.

Suddenly 'KABOOM', followed by a loud 'CRASH' and 'SMASH' the class continued, nobody had even moved a finger. No no no there isn't any accident or alien invasion, just a passing cloud of romance launched an an attack on her mind and successfully invaded her thoughts.

Now everything changed. She sat in the same place, looking toward the board then teacher then copy in a never ending cycle. But now nothing was getting past her ears. She could hear her teacher explaining something, giving notes and answering questions; yet she could not make out one word from another, even after trying hard, these words could not make coherent sentences. She still held her pen in her hand, in position of writing, so she hoped that her teacher wouldn't notice her lack of "interest' in class.

Dreamily she sat in class and a young boy appeared in her mind, wearing a black suit. His white shirt underneath peaked peaked near the collars and wrists. He had polished shoes and ruffled up hair- dark brown but not black. He seemed kind and held a smile on his face. He was very happy for some reason.

Now entered a girl of nearly the same age. She wore a beautiful blue gown. The gown didn't seem too heavy, as she and the gown moved freely. Her long wavy black hair flowed with the wind and provided a good contrast to her gown. She held a satisfied expression.

They were dancing. Quite gracefully and elegantly, she believed. There was no music that she could hear while the background remained white. Only the two people danced their heart out.

Suddenly white wood appeared below their feet, slowly turning into a bridge. The bridge connected two pieces of land covered in grass, below flowed a narrow river- neither too deep nor too low. Now, all the colours which were showing so vividly until now, started to darken as if something had over shadowed it. It turned darker and darker. Just before mixing with the blackness of the now black background, appeared a white circular object. It gained crescents turning out to be the moon. Large and calm and magical, illuminating  the darkness. All through the couple danced. Nothing that happened around could stop them.

The bell rang, snapping her out of her wonderland, indicating the end of the class. By the time she reached back to class, everyone was wishing the teacher and she was leaving. No sooner did she leave, than the next teacher entered. Well, you could say, it was another normal day ...

[Note:- Well, this was a long chapter. Didn't think it would take that long to write. Thanks for being patient and reaching here. I had an illustration of this scene, that I drew in class and was going to attach, but it didn't survive time that well, so I'll have to redraw it. I'll put it up once I am done with it, so look forward to it. Bye ;) ]
