The Mechanical Piano Man

Today was the yearly carnival in the town, where all dress in masks and celebrate in juvenile fashion: drinking, partying, and wrecking havoc. There was however, one bar that always seemed to keep composure where a popular piano player spent his evenings. Controversy clouded his name, he was one of the few that seemed to stay calm in a town full of hooligans. Most of the townfolk acted awkward around him, thinking he hid some sort of secret with his quiet composure. Truth is they were right. The night of the carnival, the piano player turned to the entrance as a group of masked people walked in, one of which was a stunning girl dressed in black, with a cut riding up to her thigh. She came in swaying to the keys, moving towards the piano player, she gave a twirl and leaned up against the piano.

"Well if it isn't the mysterious piano player, don't have any company for the eclipse carnival?"

"With some piano music, I have all the company I need"

"How's about you join us for a round of sarsaparillas? They say the sassafras was aged to perfection this year!"

"I'm more of a whiskey kinda fella"

"Whatever your poison, we're buying!" She linked arms with the piano player pulling him off the stool. He however did not budge causing her to lose balance, grabbing at the man's sleeve to save her fall. The sleeve tore exposing an arm mechanical in nature, years of oxidation reflecting it had been poorly maintained.

"Wha... wha... who the hell are you?!" she clammered, jumping upwards and running towards the exit. As a man from the bar went to draw his gun, the piano player had already drawn his, holding it behind his back and shooting the bar man's gun straight out of its holster. Silence occupied the room, replacing the previous sounds of ivory keys.

"Think very carefully about your next move as it may just be your last," the piano man claimed. Then suddenly a group of men wearing badges entered the bar. 

"What is going on in here dammit?!"
