Chapter~1

Have you ever felt like there's something killing you from the inside. like if you don't escape you're going to slowly find yourself sinking deeper and deeper. Hi my name is Lyla Demoint. And that is basically my whole life. I grew up as the badass girl through thick and thin. When my mom died all who knew was my mom's best friend Tasha Dooley and my best friend her son Leo. I lived with my dad I Mission Creek. He started getting drunk and abusing me sometime sto he point I couldn't take it. To the point where I started to give up hope. That's when I started to sing. It was my safe haven where all my worries seemed to disappear for the moment. It also helped me cope and/or express my emotions. When something was wrong all I would do was sing. One day our schools supposably heartless principle. Who went by principle Perry. Heard me and started to pay me to sing songs she wrote about herself and put them on CDs of course I said yes. It was kind of a job for me. In hopes of saving up and running away. Guys would come up to me and annoy me asking me our. But the truth is I never found the right one. I'm more into the silent quirky guys. The nerds of you say. Sure I get good grade so call me a nerd if you like but I've also got a reputation as a bad ass heartbreaker so yeah... People would try to befriend me telling me not to hang with Leo cause he's a looser but I'd tell them off saying he was a loyal best friend. When he was bullied I would be the one to stick up for him. However I never seemed to get a thank you not that I minded I knew he meant it. Anyway, today I was walking around the school hallway as usual stopping by my locker getting my high algebra books for my first class. When Leo walked with 3 new kids I've never seen before. And if I have to say one was pretty cute in a nerdy type of way. I saw a boy not the cuts one. But the taller more muscular one. Don't get me wrong their both got a muscular build but this one seems to be visibly stronger. a few Lockers over to mine he saw a girl struggle with opening her walker and he offered to help. Then it seemed as if he took the locker off the brackets cuz he did. It's weird because principal Perry just fix the lockers cuz she had to the school district told her. And he removed it in one hand pull off the brackets and it's new it's like weird. And it just like sagged down the middle and it looks like not a problem for him. Next I saw the girl that you with with like the one the girl out of the three boys. As she went up to a bunch of girls like group and she said hi I'm Bree and I like ponies and stuff. Then she went back to Leo and the three tell by the way the guy who broke the locker went back to them and said did you see that I got new besties when they walked away from her. I can't wait to stop them in the back she said in a violent way and I was like okay. Then I walked over to them. Hey Leo who are these people I asked him. He was like oh these are my new step siblings. He introduced the cute one as Chase. The pony one As Bree. And The locker ripper as Adam. he also told me they were home-schooled which made a lot of sense to Bree's behavior. The bell rang. And Chase he fell down on the ground plug in his ears burning in a weird circle. Weird right? Real then told me that he has sensitive hearing first heard Bree tell him. That chase has something bionic. I didn't know what but I heard the word bionic and hearing. And I thought no one's ears are that sensitive right? I help chase out in the ground and he asked me what it was and I said that's a bell and it rings eight times a day so good luck with that. And then I giggled and he smiled. And I thought to myself that he has good smile. Leo asked if I could take Chase to my class because I am high algebra cuz I'm intelligent. So I walked Chase to my class with my books in my hand and he started telling me about how he was like new at everything that he didn't know if he's going to fit in. And I told him as long as he sees to it and he knows how the brain works he should do just fine. He said oh that's good. The teacher paired me with him and said he had no new students would you kind of made me a little like I don't know maybe confused and a little curious. Fast forward. she's came up to us and said hey guess who just became a contraptor in the Philippines. That's impossible unless he is wickedly smart. However that could be possible since the Adam guy has some sort of super strength. And Bree is so far just super awkward and a bad whisperer and Chase has hearing stuff aka bionic hearing whatever that is and I'm like suurre. Then Leo started talking about how he's not athletic and he's failing a class A ball straight up came towards his head again and I caught it and I threw it in the hoop from where we were which is really far away on the bleachers with my eyes closed thinking it wouldn't make it and I might bounce off and hit my face and everyone clapped finally. And then Adam through Leo to help him become popular or at least not feel PE all the way to the hoop which were like millions and millions of music is far away. Like not humanly possible to throw Leo that far like I can throw a ball with that strong. and then Leo started signing that's the vault and he's saying stuff like that for you pretty mama. it was hilarious but I didn't laugh cuz I didn't want to be rude and start saying thank you to them and I'm like this kind of mean and ignoring me to the point where it just kind of hurt my feelings. And I learned how to conceal my feelings over time. Then Adam was starting to walk towards Dewi Dingo. he started with housing with him and hitting his head and belly and Adam started to like it good doggy. let me start getting annoyed because the warehousing started to get a Little bit stronger. And the dog wouldn't quit it. Adam got more annoyed and more annoyed and then seeing his eyes lit up red and I heard from a little while away someone say oh no his heat vision I'm pretty sure it was Bree saying that to Leo and in my head I was like he's what and Leo asked that and then they were like his bionic heat vision it's going haywire it's a glitch and then lasers out of his eyes and hit Dewey dingo and killed him. and then a cheerleader without the fall and buried ran like not humanly possible like super fast. to the cheerleader and put her arms out but didn't catch her cuz you fell right in front of her and then she said well good news I know what contraptor in the Philippines. And everyone started going haywire and then she started saying don't worry buddy if we get out of here in an orderly fashion we have a blank blank blank blank blank percent chance of getting out of here alive. can I just sit on the bench of observing and Leo didn't even pay any attention to me cuz he's been ignoring me. And then Mr Davenport as they call him and Tasha came in which I learned she married him some out Tasha Davenport came in. And said she's getting the helicopter sound like helicopter what. And then he noticed me unlike a Leo and he had me come look first you ask me. What did you see in him like all of it so I was in the helicopter and he's like I had to pay this much as much blah blah blah and you this so yeah. In the helicopter Leo didn't even think I was there he ignored me. Nobody asked you this girl was and then the three said I don't know we didn't get her name and I'm like oh well thanks. And then he has to Leo and Leos like what girl. And I start bawling and bawling tears falling out of my eyes and I spoke up and I said your best friend with my tears just falling I'm falling and he just doesn't pay any attention to me and to thank you guys for finally making me popular in Mr davenport said you can't go to school anymore I'm sorry. And then I asked bionic? And Leos like oh hey why did you get here, Lyla. and he doesn't even notice me or even she'd me a small glance I start thinking I'm not his friend anymore after all the stuff I've done I remain loyal and everything and he doesn't even give me thank you all I do and all these people who just come here and Wednesday 10 to thank you and I stick up for him and they stay with thick and thin and he just bails on me like that.
