An extra chapter this week just because I love you all!!!

~Carter~

I woke up to the sound of a familiar voice coming from the living room. It was faint and I was still asleep, but there was no mistaking that voice.

It was Ronnie.

I hadn't realized how much I missed her, or how much I'd wanted to hear her voice until now. Even despite my exhaustion, my body was instantly awake and I found myself running into the living room and throwing myself into Ronnie's arms as I broke out into tears.

Fuck, I'd been crying a lot lately. I wasn't usually so emotional, but these last couple of months I had probably cried more than I had in the last year.

"Hey, Carty," Ronnie said, pulling me in closer.

Knox was standing across from her, talking to my parents and Cash, but I couldn't bring myself to acknowledge him yet.

It might sound weird, but Ronnie had easily become one of the most important people in my life during my formative years. She had moved in when I was only fourteen, and she had quickly become the cool big sister I'd always wanted. It was a strange scenario if you thought about it—I mean, imagine your dad coming home with a twenty-one-year-old girl who just so happened to be the daughter of his first love. One would have suspected it to be weird and uncomfortable, but Ronnie had fit right into the family, and both my parents had come to love her like their own.

It sucked when she and Knox moved to Arizona, and I had missed having her around—especially now when I could really use a big sister to talk to.

"Shit, I've missed you," I admitted.

"Me too," she said, pulling me in closer.

It was only then that I noticed the very noticeable bump between us. I knew Ronnie was pregnant again, but she hadn't been nearly as big the last time I saw her. Now she was huge, no hiding the fact that she was carrying another Knox baby.

"Oh my god," I said, placing a hand over her protruding belly. "When did you get so big?"

"Carter," my mom chided, while Knox held back a chuckle.

"What?" I asked.

"It's generally not nice to point out when someone's gained weight," my father reminded, a hint of amusement in his tone. I was surprised, given how down he had been, but Ronnie's arrival seemed to put a smile on his face, even if it was for only a minute.

"Way to go, brat," Cash teased, nudging my arm.

Ronnie rolled her eyes. "It's fine. I do own a mirror, you know?"

"Don't worry, Sweets, I think you look beautiful," Knox complimented.

Ronnie rolled her eyes while my brother let out a scoff.

"What did he do that he's resorting to such ass-kissing?" Cash questioned.

"Nothing," Ronnie shrugged. "I think he's just hoping that if he tells me that enough, I'll stop complaining about the fact that I'm a whale and actually have sex with him."

That earned a full-on laugh from my mom and me, and even my dad cracked a smile, while Cash just looked uncomfortable."

"That's my cue to help Tweak with the bags," Cash said, taking off out the front door.

Tweaker was here too? I guess the whole Hell's Tribe gang was coming out for this.

I couldn't help but hope this meant that with all the distractions, I would get even a moment alone with Bucky. While the support from my family was great, Bucky's arms were the only ones I really wanted to be in.
