I slowly stick my head out from behind the rock and look closely at the ridge. There are so many trees that all I can make out is what looks like jeans.

I slowly creep closer to the ridge, staying quiet just in case it's better for me to just leave without being seen. That's when I see it, or rather, her. There was a girl sitting there with her legs pressed up against her chest and her face buried in her knees.

Sheseemed like a normal girl, she couldn't be older than fifteen and she was wearing a simple hoodie and jeans. After studying her for a minute and deciding she was no threat, I realized where she was sat. The very edge.

"I don't think she's okay, but I can't afford to stay here for too much longer," I quietly whisper to myself, deciding if I should stay or not.

After looking over my shoulder to make sure no one was coming I decided there would be no harm in staying a bit longer.

"Ah, curse you. How did such a soft heart get into a job like yours?" I scold myself as I begin to walk closer to the girl whose sobs were only getting louder. What do I even say? I can't handle crying people, maybe I should just leave. No, just go up to her and ask what's wrong, it's not that hard. I debate with myself.

"Hey, uh...not to creep you out but I just saw you here and I thought maybe you could use someone to talk to," I say as more of a question than a statement. But as she looked up at me, tears racing down her cheeks, any doubt of staying immediately went away.

Without even thinking about it I sit down next to her with my legs dangling over the edge."So, what's wrong then?" I ask while looking back over at her, I can see the confusion in her eyes, as if to say you're talking to me? But I also see pain. There's so much pain in her eyes, and even as she looks at me, her tears don't slow.

Everything," she softly says, her voice cracking. She looks away to her right, overlooking the view from the ridge.
