I've never liked the rain. It's cold. And wet. That's why I thought this girl was odd. There she was, standing in the middle of an empty street, arms outstretched, amidst the downpour. She looked so peaceful and calm, almost euphoric. When a bolt of lightning struck the skies, she didn't even flinch. She just stood there, taking everything in.
I decided to approach her. I don't know why, I just did. Something about her drew me in. Perhaps her hair, which was unkempt and disheveled, but still beautiful. Perhaps it was the way she stared into the clouds, full of wonder and love. Or maybe, it was the fact that I knew, somehow or someway, at some point in the future, she'd hold me in the rain.
