"Diamonds or pearls?" Chaeyoung said to Irene. She looked into the vanity mirror and held up the different earrings to her ear.
Tonight was her father's rally and she had to be in attendance. It was the midpoint in Gregory's campaign and he was giving a private speech. Only press, staff, and security would be in the room, but it would be getting broadcasted.
"Diamonds," Irene answered. "The pearls will make you look too old since you're wearing a low ponytail."
"I agree." Chaeyoung set the pearl earrings back into her jewelry box.
Usually her dad would hire a makeup artist and stylist to do her hair and makeup, but Chaeyoung preferred having Irene help her with it.
"Your dad told me about what happened at the boutique. Do you think that's why his speech will be private?" Irene questioned as she applied a pink nude lipstick to Chae's lips.
"I think so." Chaeyoung said. "I feel like there's so much he's not telling me though. He randomly gets me a bodyguard and then the boutique that I go to for almost every event gets bombed."
"Don't stress about it too much." Irene spoke sincerely. "Your dad always has your best interest. If something was going on I'm sure he would've talked to you about it."
Chaeyoung shrugged her shoulders. "I know my dad has been upsetting a lot of people with his views on the Upper and Lower East Side drama, but I didn't think people would react this crazy. I wish he would drop out of the race if I'm being honest."
"You know how Mr. Park is he'll die in attempt of making a positive impact. If you feel unsafe it would be best if you talked to him about it." Irene tried to reason.
Chaeyoung got up from her vanity chair and looked into her full body mirror.
"Ready to put your dress on?"
Chanyeol sat on a chair in the Park's waiting room. Mr. Park is giving a speech tonight and since Chaeyoung had to be in attendance, so did Chanyeol.
"Chanyeol." He heard Mr. Park call. "There you are. Alonzo will be here shortly to escort us."
"I'm not driving?" Chanyeol questioned.
"It'd be best If we arrive together."
"I had a question actually." Chanyeol said hesitantly. "I don't want to overstep my boundaries, but I don't think It's a good idea if you host a speech at a public place right now. The bombing at the boutique only happened less than a week ago."
"I understand your point, trust me I questioned if this was a good idea once or twice." Mr. Park said while taking a seat. "In this city people talk, Chanyeol. Me closing the event off to the public was already risky as it is. If I make it too obvious that something is going on I'll come off vulnerable. The people don't want their governor to be weak."
