Poisonous Rose

Prologue

On winter nights, the ground is piled with snow. All trees are black and thin without any leaves. There is a little girl, she was laying on snow surrounded by gloomy forest. This girl passed out, she had white skin like snow. Her hair looked silky and beautiful like the night. She woke up and sat up very slowly. She looked around and she had no idea where she was. She realized so suddenly, she also doesn't know who she is. Her eyes are beautiful like roses, they are filled with tears. She started to stand up and cried. She started to hear something eerie. Sounds like wind is howling as trees are shaking. There is one sound that makes the girl frightened. It sounded like a scary growl. This girl tried to follow this sound and suddenly that sound was behind her. She turned around very slowly as she was scared to see something. She looked like she saw a ghost and ran as fast as she could carry her legs. She just ran and ran and didn't look back. The dead trees fell back until she fell to the ground. She suddenly heard a deep roar behind her. She looked around very slowly and saw this monster so clearly. The terrifying monster is a huge beast standing in front of her. Its face has a skull and fangs. Its back has bone spikes and everything is so black like a shadow. Its eyes are so flamey red like fire. The little girl was so afraid and she was not able to move at all as this monster started to run toward this little girl.

The little girl closed her eyes and she thinks she is going to die. She uses her hand as a shield. She waited for a moment and she felt no pain from the monster's attack. She decided to open her eyes to see what happened. This beast suddenly turned into black ash and flew away into the forest. She stands up and cleans up snow from her small shaky legs. She looked down to her hands and frowned.

"Hello little girl, you defeated a shadow beast," a deep English accent voice from behind.

The little girl looked around with tears falling on her cheeks. She saw a gentleman. His eyes are fierce green, as for his outfits looked like he was going to a formal party. He smiled and handed out for her to reach.

She still has tears on her cheeks and said in a shaky voice,"Shadow beast? It's so scary!" This man, who has gentle eyes, bent his knees and looked at this little girl.

He said in a gentle voice,"It's alright. This beast is gone. You made it disappear." He put out his hand again and waited for her to hold it. She looked at his hand. His hand had gloves on it. They were white and smooth.

She said,"I can't. I hurt a monster and I might hurt you..."

The man smiled gently and said,"It's alright. Let's go home."

The little girl said," You are a stranger. What if you are a bad man?"

This man smiled and stood up and said,"I'm Dr. Darling and my wife wants to meet you. You can follow me to our house nearby and see if you can trust us?" Little girl nodded softly and followed him behind. They arrived at this nice wooden cottage. Dr. Darling's wife stood outside and waited for her husband to come home. His wife had very long wavy golden hair and her skin was smooth white and her eyes were beautifully blue as the sea.

She said in a sweet voice," Hello honey..." She looked at this little girl and said,"Who is this cute little girl, Darling?"

Dr. Darling smiled and said," Alice, she is staying with us for now. I found her in the forest alone with a beast when I was on my way home."

Alice frowned and asked," How did she survive!?"

Dr. Darling said," This little girl has special powers that make the beast disappear by touch."

Alice bent her knees and asked," Hello beautiful, can we know your name?" 

This little girl whispered,"I don't know..."

Alice gasped and said," That's alright come in and let's warm you up." Little girl smiled in a sad way and they went into the cottage.

At dinner time, the outside started to get darker and snow was falling to the ground. Little girl uses a nightgown that Alice made for this tiny girl. She sat on the wooden chair and looked out of the window. She looked at the window with no emotions shown.

"Dinner is ready. Are you ready, little one?" Dr. Darling asked. Little girl looked up and nodded. She gets off the wooden chair as Dr.Darling turns the chair toward the table. Little girl goes back to that chair as the Darlings sit on their own chairs. Alice put food on the little girl's plate. Little girl stared at the food on her plate.

Dr.Darling looks at this little girl and asks,"You don't like it?"

Little girl looked at him and asked,"What's that?" Alice is surprised and she doesn't realize that little girl has no idea about food either.

Alice said,"It's chicken, green beans, and mashed potatoes." Little girl looked back to her plate and started to scoop food with her hands and ate food that was on her small hands. Alice giggled as Dr.Darling stopped the little girl and he pulled out his napkin and wiped off the little girl's tiny dirty hands.

He picked up a fork and said,"This fork is for you to eat with." Little girl, who has no memories, was taking this fork and trying to use it to take food off of the plate. Alice was looking at the little girl while she ate.

Alice smiled and said,"I have never seen such a unique little girl."

Dr.Darling agreed and said,"I know. She has a special ability and the color of her eyes are unique." Alice looked at Dr.Darling and worried. Dr.Darling looked at Alice's worried face and he held Alice's hands.

He said," I know, honey. She couldn't go out alone and I will do anything in my power. I will find a way to protect her and... protect others from her."

Alice nodded softly and looked at the little girl. Little girl said,"I'm done." She held her plate and it's wiped clean.

Alice chuckled and asked,'Full?" Little girl nodded and put the plate on the table. Alice looked at the little girl's beautiful eyes. It's beautifully red like roses.

Alice said,"Your eyes.... They're beautiful like roses." She gasped and looked at Dr.Darling. Dr.Darling smiled at Alice. Little girl is confused about what Alice and Dr.Darling are thinking.

Alice looked at the little girl and said," I have a perfect name for you.. You are Rose just like your eyes' color."

Rose asked,"I'm Rose?" Dr.Darling nodded and Rose started smiling widest.
