"Mental toughness is Spartanism, with all it's qualities of self-denial, sacrifice, dedication, fearlessness and love"- Vince Lombardi

Simone was clad in her white lab coat with a clipboard in her arm along with a few residents and her colleagues in a ward room as they all paid attention to Dr. Redwood- the physician leading them on one of their clinical rotations at a community hospital.
The patient she currently had to treat was an eighteen year old boy named Virgil Miller with a badly hurt stomach due to some poor eating habits.
Simone wasn't surprised since most teenagers loved to eat all kinds of junk food.
She then smiled to herself, remembering how both her and Leonardo craved for chicken pizza all the time. It was tough but she had learned to control her junk food intake over the years and appreciate eating healthy food. In fact, her father had made sure of that.
The boy was still asleep on the hospital bed due to the effect of the anesthesia still working in his body, after the surgery done on his stomach to remove some foreign bodies which were detected by the CT scan diagnosis.
"Alright, I guess that'll be all for today. Richards, I'd like to see you before you leave." Dr. Redwood said before dismissing the others.
Simone cleared the way as the others filed out of the ward making her sigh. She'd have to work very hard this year so she'd pass the Board exams before becoming a resident, which was why the clinical rotations were becoming more occasional and tedious, being her final year at medical school.
"Sir?" Simone called once all them were out.
"How was the session? Hope you were able to get all the necessary information on your new patient?" Dr. Redwood inquired, removing the stethoscope from his ears to hang on his neck after inspecting Virgil's still sleeping form on the bed.
"Yes sir. I have no problem with that." She nodded.
"Good. I've checked his vitals. Signs show he's improving. Your work starts Monday, so you'll have to prepare your shifts' schedule and submit before then. Is that okay?"
"Alright sir, no problem." She assured.
"Okay. I know it must be really tough for you. Combining your company work and school, especially since it's your fourth year. How do you feel about everything?." He asked with concern.
"Well, It has been quite difficult to say the least, but I've made it this far without actually breaking down and if there's anything, it only makes me feel quite motivated." She smiled.
"That's the spirit of a doctor." He grinned and nodded, clearly impressed.
Simone always knew the implications of starting her own company and taking a course as difficult as MBBS, but she still did it anyways. Even though she could just take over from her dad's company once she got her degree, Simone never really believed life was that simple.
She rather believed in hard work and dedication. Everything had always been provided for her since she was a baby causing her never to have a reason to lack or see bad days. Her parents made sure to carter everything she ever needed right from education down to where she laid her head to sleep at night.
As a rich kid brought up in luxury, one would expect her to be spoiled and easily looking out to depend on others for her well being but fortunately, her father never brought her up that way. As much as her parents wanted her to enjoy the good things of life, her dad never ceased to tell her of the sufferings of this world.
