┊┊┊┊┊┊┊☆┊┊🌙 *┊┊┊☆ °🌙*I got up at 5 a.m. to catch my 5:30 a.m. train. My superior urged me to arrive at Vidhya Vihar about 7 a.m. because I was on the cultural committee. It was difficult for me to travel vast distances because I reside on the outskirts of the city. I swiftly dial my partner's number, who was assigned to assist me during my college festival. She was on her way out the door. I dash to catch my train after quickly grabbing a lunch from the platform shop.
I arrived a little late, and the college festival had already begun. The large banners, beautiful posters, and counters were all visible. Formal attire is worn by students working on campus. Today, I was competing in numerous competitions on behalf of my college with my senior, and it was equally my obligation to win and tally up the points to help our institution win.
My teammate Kavya contacted me and urged me to come to class A on the third floor. At 8:30 a.m., we had our first competition, which was Salad Making. We layout our ingredients and decide who will prepare the salad and who will tell the story. My partner prepares the salad while I explain the procedure. Throughout the process, I discovered that I had never considered competing in an event and also representing my college. From the first day to the present, I have undergone significant changes. After meeting Ekta, she gradually introduced me to the Nature's Club and the Cultural Committee, making it simple for me to make acquaintances. In no time, I was having a great time. I'd go to lectures and then join a club to discuss upcoming events. There was no longer any loneliness. Everything was going swimmingly. I even had a soft spot for a guy named Ketan, who was also a member of my squad. He was a down-to-earth guy with a nice attitude.
"Ouch! "Blood, blood, blood!" Kavya sobbed. While chopping the fruits, she cut her fingertip.
I instantly regained my composure.
"Oh my God!" Let's exchange places for a moment. I doubt you'll be able to chop the fruits any longer."
I began slicing the fruits and putting them together in our watermelon basin. Scooping out the red portion and using the bottom as a decorative bowl was my idea. Bananas, apples, kiwis, strawberries, and pineapples were all freshly chopped. To improve the flavour, I add a pinch of chat masala. There were three phases to the competition. Decoration, cleanliness, and taste are all important factors. I was unsure about our fruit salad, but not about the second salad, which was sprouts salad. Kavya and I came up with the idea of developing healthy dishes that would seem very healthy while being explained to the judges. This was our mental process the entire time.
Kavya wrapped her wound in a bandage and began preparing a sprout salad. I was also finished with one salad that I was not allowed to assist with due to the constraints. Salad can only be made by one person. They told us to stop working and step back from the table after 5 minutes. We were unable to complete the sprout salad due to the time lost caused by Kavya's event. The judges were not only judging the food on its taste, but also on its appearance. By glancing at each other, I and Kavya agreed that we had done a good job. When the judges arrived at our table, Kavya gave the explanation, and they seemed pleased with the notion of using the watermelon. I honestly believed that would earn us bonus points, but things were difficult to gauge.
We exited the room and returned to the group. Other members of the team were preparing for a sporting event. Others were preoccupied with eating or updating their social media accounts. Everyone was starving and exhausted.
Kavya appears out of nowhere and takes a seat beside me. She continues, "By holding my hands," as she looks at me with watery eyes.
"Meera, pay attention. I'd like to express my regret for today. I completely messed up. We are not going to win, in my opinion. On my way home from work, I noticed other contestants' dishes that were significantly superior to mine. We did a terrific job, but we forgot to make our second dish, which could get us into problems."
She was serious and making a lot of sense, but since she had cut her finger while slicing fruits and caused a mess, I felt compelled to console her over her inability to stop overthinking.
"Listen, it's all right. We all make errors. And, on the bright side, we have other things to cover up. We'll win those and receive the extra points. Don't be concerned. Our salad, to be honest, wasn't all that wonderful either." I chuckle while I tell the joke, which helps to keep the environment in check.
