AN: Uh. Um. I said I was going to update. I told myself a bazillion times but just kept putting it off. So so sorry for my long hiatus but I'm back. Do you forgive me?

"Expelliarmus!"

"Stupefy!"

"Leviocorpus!"

Hermione cringed, expecting the three spells to hit their target and knowing the outcome would not be good for the Doctor. When she peered from between her fingers which had instinctively splayed across her face, she saw something that shocked her.

The spells, each a respective color, had frozen in the air mere inches from the Doctor's chest. He was holding his rod, wand-like device, which was glowing a fluorescent blue. His intense cerulean eyes were trained on Remus who was stepping off the broomstick in the windowsill.

"What the bloody-?" Ron asked, breaking the stilled silence.

"Who are you?" Remus asked, no humor in usually soft eyes. Their chocolate warmth had hardened as he stared at the Doctor.

"Oh, you would not believe the amount of times I've been asked that here. I'm the Doctor, hello, nice to meet you."

Sirius stepped up, quickly followed by Tonks. Tonks suddenly launched herself at the Doctor, throwing the rod device out of his hand and grabbing his leather collar.

"And Doctor, I'm an Auror. I'm going to find out what you had to do with Remus' attack and I'm going to make sure you don't see the light of day for-"

Lily Evans cut her off. "Tonks, I know you mean well, but this is the Doctor. He didn't hurt Remus. He was looking for someone named Rose, someone who was also taken by the Pomfrey imposter. He doesn't mean harm."

Tonks took a step back, slightly abashed and fiercely blushing but she still held her wand at the ready and gave him her fiercest glare to show she wasn't fooling.

Sirius looked her, shocked. "Doesn't mean harm? Look what he did with our spells, Lily! You don't think that's rather frighteningly powerful?"

"I do think it's rather wicked," Marlene spoke up. "Wicked brilliant that is! I mean, c' mon he froze your spells in midair!"

Young Sirius chimed in with a "yeah! What kind of wand is that anyways?"

The Doctor looked to him and grinned a too-wide smile. " S'not a wand. It's a sonic screwdriver."

They all stared blankly at him. "It's a screwdriver. It's sonic."

Mary blinked. "Right."

He sighed. "You lot still don't know what that means, do you?"

"And that's how we'd gotten separated," finished George from his seat next to Fred.

"Seems a lot's happened since I was attacked," said Remus, worry clear in his undertone. Tonks looked over at him in cincern, and the glance did not go unnoticed by the Doctor.

"Seems a lot's happened since before I got here," added the Doctor, grinnily widely. Sirius was the only one nonplussed by his seemingly cheeriness.

"We need to get Pomfrey back, as well as, what was her name, Rose?" Sirius continued at a nod of confirmation from him, "so, who has an idea on how to do this?"

Mary went to speak from beside Young Remus, only to be interrupted by the sound of hurried footsteps outside. The adults turned, wands at the ready on instinct, and as Hermione noted, the Doctor brandished his so-called sonic screwdriver in a wand-like manner as well.
