"Then you must possess a natural talent for it," (Y/N) commented.
Lord Amane chuckled softly. "Haha, that maybe."
He continued working with the knife, his movements deft and precise.
'I can't imagine why someone of his background would ever need to handle a kitchen knife, and yet...'
(Y/N) couldn't help but be impressed. Lord Amane seemed to pick up every task she showed him with remarkable ease, as if a single demonstration was enough for him to master it.
"Hm?" he tilted his head, noticing her stare.
"Oh! Er, nothing..." she replied, realizing she'd been staring. She quickly turned her attention back to her own work.
As evening fell and the restaurant curtains came down, (Y/N) stepped outside to see Lord Amane off as he prepared to return to his inn.
'We've grown so close in such a short time...'
He looked at her with his usual soft smile. "Thank you again for today. What will you teach me next?"
"Next...?" (Y/N) hesitated, wondering what else she could possibly show him. He had already mastered the basics of cooking. 'Why does he keep coming back?'
She found the situation a bit puzzling, but there was an undeniable sense of adventure in it. For reasons she couldn't fully explain, her heart skipped a beat.
'Could it be that he's coming to see... me?'
Hope and anticipation flared within her, only to be quickly dampened by doubt. 'Why would that be the case?'
Lost in thought, she hadn't realized he was watching her quietly until his voice pulled her back to reality. "I look forward to seeing what I'll learn from you tomorrow. Well then, see you again."
"Oh, right... Thank you for everything," she replied.
She watched him walk away, letting out a quiet sigh. She couldn't quite figure out how she'd ended up in this strange yet enjoyable routine.
Whether it was the joy of teaching him or something else entirely, she couldn't say. Perhaps it would become clearer in the days to come. But for now, she couldn't deny that this was the first time she felt so excited to greet tomorrow.
