For the Love of a Princess

I came in tears to His Throne
On Christ, do I stand alone
Toward His tender mercies I did fly
That my sins and flesh be crucified

Take from me, O Father, this weight
Every chain I forged do break
Your tender Heart with mine, replace
My strong desires with Thy strong embrace

From Your hand I have been fashioned
To be filled with Your love's passion
To You I look and follow, my Savior
Redeem me when I should waver

Father, glorified be Your Name
Fill my heart with Your Spirit's flame
In Your plan before the beginning of time
I was Yours; and now You are mine

Alone I lay in my blood
Yet You came in tender love
You gave Yourself as my Eternal gift
Dead in my sin, still You stayed
And said, "Live!"

No more bound to transgress
But now Your warrior to fight the Flesh
In You I find this hope and rest
My sins removed as far as the east
Is from the west

Shalom

And so as the love to a husband from his wife
So in Christ do I find my delight
I said, "Hold me now, Beloved, in Thine embrace"
And He likewise, "Remove your veil and show thy face."

"Rise up, My love, My fair one!
The winter is past; the rain is gone!
Green figs come forth on the fig tree
Rise up, My love!
And come away with Me!"

Of His love He made me aware
His strength to show He was there
We gazed at sunsets from the shore
And He held me closer and said, "I love you more"

He drinks water from His own well
I'm His loving deer; His graceful gazelle
By His delight I have been captured
And by my love He is enraptured

I have been brought into His chambers
He is my King and my Savior
You think it impossible for Him to be wooed?
His love in me is clearly proved

I am lovesick when my Love looks at me
His smile like the day that breaks
And the shadows flee
"A garden enclosed," He says, "Is my sister
My spouse."
I charge you, O daughters, let love, alone
Awaken and arouse

In my soul His love does dwell
My cry for Him; a fragrant smell
He clothes me in a royal robe
A reminder of His love enfold

With gold and silver my neck is dressed
His sweet lips of love caress
He gazed at me through the lattice
And from windows above
And his banner over me was "Love"

He has made Himself my Gift and Present
My Beloved is handsome and pleasant
My love to me is like the henna blooms
By His passion I have been swooned

His word to me has not been wasted
Years of love I have but tasted
Content for no others to be at our table
For He is my sole Delight
He is ever faithful

Tried and true my Love has been
When He rescued me from my sin
Falling so that I might rise
He is my Resurrection and my Life

"I have tasted her honey
And drunk of her wine
And she is the oil
That makes My Face shine!

My Beloved the Day has come
Before the Bridegroom the shadows flee
Rise up, My love; My fair one

.......And come away with Me."
