Chapter 12

I swam to the surface and I saw the look of pure shock and confusion on all of their faces. I know that they are werewolves but mermaids are so secretive that most of the mythical world don't know that they exist. "My name isn't Serena Waveman well it is but that's not my full title. My real name is Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Serena Tidal Wave Ocean of the Seven Seas. I am the future Queen of the oceans and my great grandfather is Poseidon." I think I saw Claire's mouth drop and no one said anything they were quiet and just stared. I huffed annoyed and swam to the other end of the pool. I giggled to myself and made a wave with the water not too big but big enough for them to get wet. Maybe that'll bring them back to life.

Once the water hit them they all jumped back soaked. Oops guess I put a little more effort in making the wave than I thought. I swam back over to the screen and transformed back and put on my clothes. "I'm sorry I must have misjudged how much power I put into the wave there's towles in the cupboard over there and boys Maku will probably have clothes that will fit you and girls if you follow me" We all go back upstairs and the Wolves sort themselves out I then make them follow me back downstairs and we go into the living room and sit down. "You can ask me anything I promise I will tell you everything, no secrets I want to trust you and I want you to trust me so ask away nothing held back." I was nervous never before had I been put in this situation. "I don't want to ask individual questions. I just want to know everything from the beginning up till the day that you got to school" Jace asked. I nodded knowing that it was finally time to let it out.

"As I said before I am the Princess of the Seven Seas when I was born a girl my kingdom knew that their next ruler would be a Queen and not a King. Some Mers were not too fond of that and so they proposed to my parents the King and Queen that I be promised to another high born Mer as a way to solidify my claim to the throne. They already had the perfect candidate chosen. My cousin Michael he's a year older than me and his father, my uncle Isaac was my father's right hand man. My parents obviously refused and said that when I was old enough I would choose who I would marry. So that was that I continued to grow up in the castle learning how to take over my father's position as ruler. Isaac was always there pushing Michael to get closer to me but Michael didn't want that and I didn't. I was 15 when I was asked again in front of the royal court if I wanted to marry Michael I said no and my uncle was outraged. That was the first time I had seen my father yell. After that day Maku was assigned as my personal guard and my parents made arrangements for me to escape and go into hiding if it was ever needed. I lived the next two years in bliss continuing my training and looking over my shoulder however, unbeknownst to us Michael had been rallying Mers who didn't agree with my father and two months before my eighteenth birthday and my coronation they attacked. My mother managed to get me out of the kingdom along with Maku and we swam here and I assumed the identity of Serena Waveman so that my uncle and his rebels wouldn't know I was here. I don't even know if my parents are alive and I'm not allowed back into my kingdom until my uncle is stopped. The reason I ran from you is not that I didn't feel the connection it's just no one really knows about the existence of mermaids and I didn't want you to get hurt and I'm sorry." That was it my secret was out and now they knew I was expecting shouts and screams and complaints and disappointment. What I wasn't expecting is what I got. Jace stood up and hugged me. I had never felt love like this before. I could feel that we were connected. "You're mine forever and always and as I stand here I promise you that I will help you get your kingdom back." The Moon Goddess had chosen him for me. I had always liked Selene even if she did have an affair with my uncle Zeus and aunt Hera was not happy but she was always kind to me and I had to believe that she mated me with Jace for a reason.
