Chapter 16 On a mission

Midoriya P.O.V.

I came out of the showers already changed but with my hair still a bit damp and the memories of the morning slightly fading, but still dreading on what Mina will do to me if we meet again. I head for my room but as I walk through the common area I am pleased to see that Mina is no longer there, but Todoroki gets up and starts to head my way until he reaches me. "Midoriya, do you mind if I go along with you today. I am really bored." he said, his expression never changing and his monotone voice present as always. "Yeah, no problem, I also have no idea what to do today." I stated and then smiled at him, that he seemed to return with the smallest grin on his face, that was almost impossible to see. We finally get to my room and he comes in, only to see the large amount of All Might merch in it once again. "Are you sure you are not his secret love child?" he asked, and I just chuckled away and denied it once again,

He sat in my desk chair and I went sit on my bed until my stomach grumbled making a noise louder than both of us expected, which got him to look at me for a second and said "Change of plans, you are going to have breakfast." and with that, we were once again out of my room. It was still early, and although many had woken up, just a few where in the common area and in the kitchen. We got to the kitchen and we were greeted by Yaoyorozu, who had a small cup of tea on one hand and a small plate on the other. "Hey Todoroki, hello Midoriya, you want some tea?" she asked, and I just nodded in response with Todoroki and I made myself two toasts to complement my drink. We sat in comfortable silence at one of the tables with Todoroki and Yaoyorozu across from me until she started small talk and time passed by.

Uraraka P.O.V.

I came down the stairs to see Deku sitting with Todoroki and Yaomomo, looking much better than what I expected. It is my mission that his mood does not fall as her best friend....... I hated to think that I was only a best friend to him, every time it crossed my mind, it shattered my heart and hopes a bit more. I sat next to Deku, only to be greeted by him "Hey Uraraka, what do you want to do today? We are all pretty bored. I really just wanted him to be happy, but I didn't have a single idea of what to do, and much to my surprise, Yaomomo bounced cheerfully as she said "Let's go to the mall and clear our heads. If you don't really have to buy anything the arcade is close by." Deku seemed a bit shocked, and I couldn't blame him. Last time he went he was almost turned to dust by Shigaraki and he was just asking a stupid question, but he still managed to stutter out "Y-yeah, I-I'll g-go" and by instinct I stated that I would go too, but of course, he seemed to calm down only slightly at that. We decided that we would head out an hour before lunch to have it at the mall.

Deku and I did not have to change, so we just sat in the common area with some of the rest of the class that were Sero, Tsu, Jiro, Tokoyami, Kirishima, Kaminari and Sato. They were chatting mostly, except for Kirishima who was on a pretty intense game of UNO against Kaminari, and it seemed as if the rest had already won and neither of them wanted to lose, but they kept giving each other plus four's. After a few minutes, I got a text from Yaomomo saying that we should start going and that she and Todoroki would catch up, as neither of them were ready. "Deku, Yaomomo told me to go on with you and she would catch up later with Todoroki." Deku just nodded and sat up and we made our way to the door, that he held open for me and then he went through. Even if it is just because of his good manners, it always seems to give me a bit of hope. 

We went to the mall and I noticed that Deku had been darting his eyes everywhere ever since we left U.A. and headed towards our destination. To say he was nervous and afraid was an understatement. "Hey, you know I am here, and I won't leave you alone, it will be alright." I said to him as I closed the space in between us a bit, to try and make him feel more comfortable. He looked at me and then smiled a bit, but then we stared into each others eyes once again, as I lost myself in the sea of green thinking of all the things I admire about him. Soon after, we were brought back to our senses by Todoroki and Yaomomo who arrived and called our names, and we quickly looked away and I felt my cheeks burn from the inside. We decided to just walk around and then grab a small bite before heading to the arcade, were Deku seemed to destroy as at everything we played. "I came here often when I was younger, I could play by myself here." He explained to me with a small frown that then turned back into a constant grin that didn't seem to leave his face as the day went by.

As we were heading back, Deku and I were walking behind Todoroki and Yaomomo who were making small talk and Todoroki seemed less cold towards her. Out of nowhere, Deku makes the same statement he did when we where at the park with Eri. "Thank you Uraraka." I was just baffled by what he said, I didn't really understand. "Why Deku?" He then looked at me and explained himself. "You really helped me at the mall today, and I had a lot of fun at the arcade thanks to you." My heart melted at his statement, as he also gave a sweet smile, not a huge one, but a sincere one. We reached the dorms and we all went to our rooms separately and I was content with the day, but something told me that Deku would not stay like this for long.

Heyoo. Sorry if it feels rushed, I explained why on a conversation I posted and yeah, I am tired. Still, I hope you liked it, even if I feel that it wasn't the strongest chapter, I am still grateful for those who read it. I am going to announce what my next fanfic will be when I reach chapter 20, and the next one my girlfriend will help, so it should be better, even if we haven't seen each other for 4 months.
