Loneliness

The sharp knife of regret will forever mar my skin.

I foolishly believed in the false hope of eternity,

And now the ghosts of them plague my thoughts.

Brightly burning friendships turn to ash,

As the fateful hands of time bid them farewell.

However, I am left with the charred remains,

Reminding me everlasting cycle.

As my pile of ashes grows,

I can't help but to wonder,

Will you be next?

The chance of being left alone in the dark is alarmingly high.

I yearn to spend every remaining second with you to the fullest,

But then again, it'll just make it harder for me to extinguish our flame in the end.

I could always let myself be consumed by the fire and give in to the temptation,

But then you'd be left in the dark.

I would never do that to you.

So I'll wait for you to turn to dust like the rest,

And embrace the cold void tenderly.

What else is there for me to do,

You who is planning to leave me?
