Friendship Has No Goodbye

Chapter 6

Usually bringing happiness and a new start, New Year was finally here. The year 2017 had finally come to an end. The group planned for dinner after the midnight mass. After midnight mass together, they clicked pictures and then realized no hotel or cafe was going to be open at 1:30 a.m. especially for them. They went to Neil's kitchen, took some food as takeaway and everyone spent time at Ash’s place. As John was leaving, they just teased Leo a little to go drop him and come back, the teasing was due to it being 3 in the morning which was known as the ghostly hour. Ash volunteered himself to go as company.

Then the rest of the group was fooling around and having a great time. Messi and Leo were playing around with Alisha, pulling her by her legs while only one thought was going on in her head 'I hope my pants don't fall.' Everyone was amused by their antics and was laughing until their stomachs hurt. The group seemed eager for the surprises of 2018. And Myra gave the first and biggest surprise to Leo by telling him yes that New Year’s Day. One month back, an innocent and shy guy named Jaden proposed to Alisha. And she decided to go out with him officially on 2nd January. The cute girl who liked Jack got a date with him with help from Alisha. After the date, Jack started dating Jenny. Everyone's love stories seemed to be starting well with the start of the year.

On the special occasion of Republic Day, the youth group planned a football tournament. They worked till 2 a.m. setting up for the event. Since there were loads on football lovers and players in the youth group, they all were really excited. After that, the group went to Messi's place to celebrate his mom's birthday and made the plan at that moment to watch Padmavat the next day. They booked the tickets right at that moment. Leo and Ash backed out in the morning as they each had some work. Jenny’s mom wasn’t letting her go for the movie. So Alisha convinced her mom to send her as she knew it would make Jack really happy. First, she told Jack that her mom told no (As a prank). As he was really eager for Jenny to come, he lost his mood to go and he went home and told no to the plan.

Alisha then got Jenny to his place and asked if he was going to get ready. He was so elated to see both of them that he got ready as fast as possible (probably broke his record time of getting ready, I guess girls do have an effect on a guy’s punctuality). They then headed to Goregaon, for the movie. It was a good movie and everyone seemed to have enjoyed it.

After the movie, they went to Infinity mall, had food, played at the arcade for a while, and then headed home. It was just a simple day but the simple ones sometimes turn out to be the memorable ones. On a side note, Myra made a WhatsApp group including everyone and named it the 'FAMILY' group. It seemed like along with the New Year, their friendship also was beginning with a fresh new good start.
