Tobi closed her eyes and fell back, right into Artemis's arms. He grunted and gave Valor a helpless glance. She gasped. "What happened?!" she cried, running up to her. She instinctively put her hand on her forehead.

"She... fainted," he whispered.

"The heat," Valor reminded them. "She fainted from the heat! We have to go NOW! No stopping!"

It's too hot... Patience moaned, stumbling her walk. Jered patted her back, feeling her smooth green scales.

"Here, dragon, get on my back," Hassa offered grimly. Patience collapsed on his fur and he heaved her up effortlessly. He continued to pad his feet on the grassy field and they all stepped into the forest finally, after a long two hour walk through the Scorching Plains. Instead of the temperature dropping a degree at a time, it turned colder all at once.

"Woah," Vale breathed in the less warmer heat, and the others sighed in relaxation.

"Much better," Valor nodded. "What now?"

"We find a shelter," Artemis declared confidently, as if completely in charge. "And settle down to have breakfast. The sun is about to rise up, so we actually made it out in time, barely alive."

All of them agreed reassuringly and set out to find an abandoned cabin, or small haven. They checked behind the thick trees, and past tall, untrimmed bushes. They gazed above the sky a couple times and then later returned their glances to the forest. Everything was forest, forest, forest...

"I can't find anything," commented Artemis, who dropped to the ground from flying.

"Me neither," Aspen muttered. He gripped a tight clutch on his knife and looked a bit embarrassed that he wasn't doing anything useful.

"We can make a tent!" Valor suggested.

"I guess," Artemis shrugged. Tobi sagged in his arms so he pulled her up his back so her legs rested on his shoulders and her face plummeted on his neck.

"Great!"

Vale and Aspen unwillingly did what she requested, so Aspen closed his eyes, and pictured an earth-based tent, and when he opened his eyes, the same image in his head appeared right in front of him.

"Wow!" Valor exclaimed. "How did you do that?"

"I'm elemental," he explained, swelled with pride. "I have earth powers. I built this cabin out of wood and stone."

"That's so cool!"

"Thanks!"

Vale scowled at him, enviously. He then closed his eyes and imagined an ice home, with beautiful glacier walls and rock hard, icy steps. He fluttered his eyes open and to the right of Aspen's shelter, was his, beautiful and grand. "Hey look, Valor!" he called aloud.

"Wow! I didn't know you could do that too!"

"It's going to melt, stupid!" Aspen growled.

"Oh please! I'll drench yours in ice water and it'll fall apart!"

"It's fine, guys!" Valor rolled her eyes at their nonsense.

"Valor? Why don't you pick the shelter we'll live in?" Jered told her, his voice dipped in sugar. Valor raised her right eyebrow and shrugged.

"Erm... I don't really care..."

"C'mon Val!"

" ... Fine. I pick... Aspen's."

"Huh?" Vale said out loud. Valor looked at him with the tiniest bit of sympathy. He rebounded the glance and then mumbled, "Whatever."

Suddenly, Artemis started running towards them. "What the-" He stared at Aspen's den, which was standing tall and glorious.
