Somira's parents had decided one day they wanted to move away from their home to somewhere new. Somira of course hated the idea, she hated the idea of leaving her friends behind, leaving her school Behind, she didn't want to start over. But soon enough they were moving anyway. When they got to their new home Somira's parents had told her that this wasn't going to be so bad and that maybe she should go out and look around to find some new friends, possibly around the neighbourhood, so she did. As she was roaming the neighbourhood she noticed a forest near by with a path leading inside. So, She followed the path. As she entered the forest she realized it was different, it wasn't any usual forest. It had trees that were different shades of orange and the leaves never fell from the trees. The squirrels and birds seemed happy all the time. On her way through she saw two beavers, they wer both taking logs from another beavers dam. Somira knew they were just animals but she didn't think it seemed right, so she went over and gave the other beaver some logs to help her with her dam, the other two beavers then left her alone . The other beaver seemed grateful for the logs Somira brought but not upset about her logs being taken in the first place. She seemed to like Somira and followed her as she walked away. Somira continued to walk and she tried to call the birds down to feed them seeds but they all ignored her. Suddenly a bird very different from the others came down and ate the seeds .the bird stayed on her shoulder and continued with her. She smiled as they walked and she met more animals on the way. She met a racoon, not dangerous at all but very quiet and calm. She met a dog who was lost but trusted her enough to continue in her path as well. She met a fox who was aggressive but easy to handle once you got close with it and gave it your trust. In the end she realized all these animals gave her happiness and she came back to see them everyday. Everyday she visited the forest, she gave the 5 animals happiness and they did the same for her. One day Somira realized the forest was looking different. The shades of orange wer darker, there were 2 leaves on the ground and instead of the birds ignoring her that day, some gave her looks she didn't appreciate. She went to see the 5 animals she met and they didn't even notice the different things happening in the forest, so she tried to communicate with them. They understood what she was Trying to show them and they communicated with her in a way that told her they wer going to be there for her if anything gets out of hand. A week passed, then a month, then 2, and Somira was more grown up she was really close with the animals still and by now she figured out a way to communicate with them. But over the time the forest was changing. One day Somira went back to the forest and noticed how much it really changed. The trees were now shades of black, there were no birds, and there were leaves everywhere on the ground. This made Somira very stressed, very sad, very depressed and she didn't know what to do, she was too afraid to reach out to some one or the animals. But eventually she tried to show the animals How she saw the forest but for some reason they only saw some of what she was seeing, they saw the forest differently, almost still the same as before, but they still tried to help. They tried and tried but the forest still looked the same to Somira, she began to believe that no one would be able to help her...and she couldn't take it anymore. The more stressful thoughts, the more leaves seemed to appear on the ground, and the forest only seemed to get darker and Dead. Somira then started to think of what she might look like hanging from one of the trees one day..but she tried her hardest to erase these pictures in her mind. Her animal friends didn't know anything about this, they still saw shades of orange, and only some leaves on the ground when Somira tried to show them what she was seeing. Somira wanted to stop visiting the forest for good at some points but always thought of what she'd be giving up. Instead she then thought of ways she could re create the forest she Began with, ways she could feel happiness again. She didn't want to give up her friends and she didn't want to give up on the forest. Somira will now continue to try and think of ways to recover the forest and make it a place welcome for her again, all she needs now is hope, faith, and the help of the ones she loves.
"It all gets better eventually..I hope"
-is what Somira said to herself everyday.
