⚔ The Right Way ⚔

"How could you Corin? I thought I had taught you better than that!"
Corin couldn't look up. She could not bring herself to actually see the disappointment she could sense in her fathers eyes.
She hadn't meant for this to happen.
"Look at Raian, Corin. Look at your brother."
Corin looked to her left and saw her brother sitting on the settee, his head in his hands as his shoulders shook slowly. She immediately looked away. She can't believe that she had done this. She had ruined her own brothers chance at happiness.
Corin stood, twisting her hands. Tears streamed down her face but she knew that she shouldn't be crying. She had no right.
Corin was angry at herself.
Ionido strode across in front of her. His heavy steps strong yet silent. Corin knew she would take whatever punishment he gave.
She was a bad person.
"Corin."
She looked up, yet not looking at his eyes.
"Ji Pita Ji."
"You will go to Kayana's wedding. And right after, you will be sent to Phaer. You will live with your aunt until I see fit."
All Corin could do was nod as she turned to pack.
She deserved this.

"Hello?"
The voice infront her snapped Corin out of her reverie and she turned to face them. Absentmindedly she pulled the rag out from the side of her skirt and began wiping the counter infront of her.
"Hi Mrs. Kren. How are the boys today?" Corin asked politely, whilst ringing up the items the elderly woman had brought up. It seemed to be the weekly shopping, and Corin appreciated the friendly chat.
"Oh dear Corin, they are a handful, as always. But I do love them." Mrs. Kren finished, a loving smile on her face as she fanned herself with a hand.
Corin smiled at her as she bagged a loaf of bread and a few cans of soup. The Kren family weren't very rich, but they were lovely, and so Corin tried to help where she could. Slyly, she changed the total from ten dollars to seven, smiling as she was handed coins.
"I'm sorry for handing you coins dear, but Mr Kren hasn't been getting much business lately. The tour business has really gone down."
