Chapter 37

"Hey" I snapped my head towards the voice "So how are you? It's been 2 days since you've been back".

"I uh" I thought for a minute "I'm good" I looked at Levy as she sat next to me on the couch "What about you? You've been a little weird" I joked and poked her arm.

"I" she stopped "I don't know how to put this" she blew air out of her mouth and wiped her palms on her legs.

"Are you breaking up with me?" I said with a small smile turning to completely face her.

"Kinda" she twisted her face.

"What?" I put my arm on the top of the couch and leaned on it.

"I'm moving, Gajeel found us a really cute apartment near campus and I know we've only been dating for a month but I've never loved someone like this and we're ready for this you know and also you and I have lived together for long enough" she rambled.

"Levy" I grabbed her hand " This is great news, and I'm happy for you" I smiled and watched her relax.

"Oh thank god" she let out and pulled me into a hug "I thought you would have tied me down to my bed and locked me in my room" she joked.

"Of course not" I pulled back "I never expected you to live with me your entire life, so moving on, when is it happening" 

"About 2 weeks" she tucked a piece of hair behind her ear "We found it while you were away but I didn't want to just leave before you got back" 

"Oh, yeah of course" I looked past her head and at Natsu who was slowly walking over "Um, well I guess" I looked around "I didn't expect you to leave so soon" 

"I can stay longer" she stopped me "Gajeel can move in and I can still be here for a little longer and then I can move in with him" 

"No, Levy it's fine honestly" I reassured her "Don't worry about me, I got him" I I nodded at Natsu as he was now close enough to hear us.

"Are you sure?" she asked looking back at him "He's not exactly the most sensitive" 

 "Who's not the most sensitive" he plopped down on the couch between us.

"Uhh Jellal, Erza was telling us how he doesn't know how to handle her when she's upset " Levy lied.

"Yeah she just was asking advice and we don't really know what to say" I continued, "But anyway, Levy just told me she's moving in with Gajeel" I directed the conversation back to her.

"Congrats" he said dryly "Tell Mira she'll set some things up for you".

"She's moving" I nudged him.

"Yeah, I heard" he said again in a monotone voice

"Thats my cue" Levy stood up "I'll see you later Lu" she practically ran out the room.

"You said we would talk about this later, It's later" I said as soon as Levy was out of sight "Actually to be exact you said we would talk about this yesterday".

"Talk about what? Us leaving our home?" he looked at me.

"No, talk about us moving into a house we both love to start something new"

"Why would we need to leave our home to start something new?"

"This isn't my home, it's your home" I pointed at him "I want to have a home, a home for the both of us to be better than our parents don't you want that?" I asked.

"Of course I want that but we don't need to be somewhere else to do that" he fought "and it could be your home if you just gave it a chance"

"This house is filled with strangers and workers, that's not a home that's an office building" I scoffed "You already have one of those, I don't understand why you'd need a second one where you sleep" 

"I don't see a problem with that and neither should you, you grew up living like this its no different" 

"Thats why its a problem" I practically jumped "My entire childhood was like this, I don't need the rest of my life like this either" I wasn't backing down "Why don't you want a change something good, something new" 

"I don't need a change" 

"Why not" I asked "Levy has changed her entire life for me and for the people she loves and now she gets to be happy with the man she loves" I paused and looked at him "I changed my entire life because of a stupid boy that hurt me and now another stupid boy won't let me grow and be happy, why can't I be happy" I flared my nostrils and pointed at my chest. 

"Are you not happy with me?" he asked flaring his nostrils.

"Of course I am but right now you are making it so difficult"

"Why? because I won't leave our house?"

"Oh my god" I stood up and walked in a circle "Do you hear yourself? It's not OUR house" I waved between us "It's your house" I pointed at him "This house had all your whores and mistresses that you fucked in your bed, the bed I sleep in every night, in the room that you call ours, in a house that you keep calling our home" 

"This is our home, they were all in the past and mean nothing" he wiped his hands across his face.

"I don't care" I yelled "When you met me, when you brought me here they were all still around or did you just forget about Lillian" I stopped and looked at him "here's a little refresher if you did, she was your assistant that was madly in love with you, that you would fuck when I wasn't around, that threatened me, even though you were involved with me you still would fuck her every chance you got in this house in my bed" my hands were waving all over the place as I yelled and ranted. "So I'm sorry that I wanted a house that didn't have any of those memories and reminders attached with it" I folded my arms and walked out the room "My bad for wanting something good for us" I made my way to the front door and grabbed the keys to Natsu's car before running out and driving anywhere but here.
