Prologue

Ruby is 8, you are 11, and Yang is 10

Ruby and Y/N were sent to get some groceries. When they got the the store they got the stuff that was written down by their mother Summer Rose. Once they got the stuff they used the money given to them by Their dad Tai And payed for them

Ruby: Y/N want to have a race back home?

Y/N: Sure

Ruby: Okie!

Ruby and Y/N got in place and starts to run off

Ruby: I'm gonna win!

Y/N: no I am

Y/N stopped at a crossing and looked both ways while ruby ran past him

Ruby: Told you I would wi-ahh!

Ruby tripped on the cross walk and a car was going fast, Ruby got up and screamed out loud, So Y/N run towards Ruby

Y/N: don't worry Ruby I got you!

Y/N pushed Ruby out of the way just in time but it costed one thing. His life. The car hit his body hard that he flew back and glass from the car window flew towards Y/N. When Y/N landed he was already in a puddle of his own blood

Ruby POV

I was pushed out of the way thanks to Y/N. I got up and saw Y/Ns body flew to the sidewalk And he landed hard

Me: Y/N!

I ran towards him to see him surrounded by his own blood

Me: No Y/N wake up! Please big brother! Please let this be a dream!

People were starting to surround me and my big brother. I picked him up bridal style and ran towards the hospital. Luckily it was close so I didn't have to go to far. Once I got there I burst the doors open and went to the front desk

Front desk lady: Hi how may I help you today?

Me: Help my big brother out please!

Front Desk lady: oh my gosh I'll get a doctor here quickly

After about like 30 seconds a doctor came and took me to the emergency room. I decided to call mom and dad and tell them what happened. I put a lien in and dialed Moms number

Summer: Hello?

Me: Mom come quick! And bring dad, uncle qrow, and Yang here!

Summer: Oh my gosh are you two ok?

Me: please just come here quick I'm at the hospital!

Summer: Ok sweetie we'll be there

Then mom hung up. I sat back down tears flowing from my eyes while looking at my big brother who is laying down the the hospital bed

Me: this would have never happened if I had been careful. I'm so stupid...

I looked down crying. I knew this was my fault for my big brothers death. I just hope this is a dream. But I know it's not. After a while of waiting Mom, dad, Yang, and uncle qrow came in

Tai: Ruby are you ok?!

Summer: What happened?

Me: I'm fine. But I don't think big brother is ok...

Summer: Oh no my sweet little boy!

Tai: Ruby what happened? Why is Y/N here?!

Me: well I wanted to race Y/N back to the house but I tripped and Y/N saved me. But I don't think he is ok...
