Life guard

Today was the day. First summer as a life guard. I woke up showered and got dressed.

I put my hair in a messy bun and put some sunglasses on.

I got my keys and phone. I drove to Starbucks for an iced coffee and breakfast. I drove to the beach and parked. People were already arriving. I got out of my car and locked it. I put my keys around my neck and went to sit in the life guard seat. I drank my coffee and watched everybody. My co-worker Anthony was supposed to be here. But he isn't. I called him but no answer. I guess I have his shift. I don't really mind. There was this kid splashing and screaming so I jumped off the chair kicks off my shoes and took off my hoodie. I blew my whistle and ran to him. I got him out and said- you ok little guy?
He started chocking so I performed 5 abdominal thrusts and he stopped chocking.
Me- you ok little guy.
He nodded and hugged me.
Me- who are you here with?
Little guy- my parents.
Me- well let's go take a look and find them.
He nodded and said- I'd like that
I grabbed his hand and we walked away looking for his parents. Once we found them his mom said- oh god. Thank god he's okay. Thank you.
Dad- what do you say Kyle
Kyle- thank you
Me- just doing my job
His mom- thank you so much.
Me- it's not a problem
I walked away and sat in my chair. I called Anthony again and he said- what's up?
Me- aren't you supposed to be here?
Anthony- where?
Me- at the beach. We have life guard duty.
Anthony- or right I'll be right there
I hung up and a kid walked up to me and said- where are the restrooms?
Me- follow me
I took him into the beach house and pointed at it. He walked in and then walked out.
Me- ready.
Him- yup
We walked out and he walked off. I sat in the chair and watched over everyone. Everything was going good. Anthony finally got here and sat besides me on his chair.
Me- well it's about fucking time.
Anthony- sorry. Also nick and Brady should be here soon
Me- sounds good. Laila Brandon and Robert are already here on the other side.
Anthony- sounds good.
We looked out and a few people were on jet-skies. Well it was more like a group. They were going out pretty far. Then they fell.
Me- get the boards they fell.
Anthony and I jumped down and I got Laila and Brandon. Robert needed to watch the rest of the people. We got on the boards and got to them. We got them and got back to shore. We all preformed cpr. I had this tall ass dude. I did cpr and mouth to mouth. Once he finally spit up water I said- you ok?
Guy- yeha I'm fine
Me- good
I did cpr and mouth to mouth then he spit out water. And now everyone was awake. A little kid ran to the first guy I did cpr on and said- Mattia are you okay?
Mattia- yeah I'm fine. She saved me.
His little brother- thanks
Me- it's just my job.
He nodded and I said- you guys can go in the office while we get the jet- skies.
Anthony- I'll go with you.
Me- Laila go with them and do the thing
Laila- I got you.
Me and Anthony ran back into the water and got to the jet- skies and rode them back to shore. We put them back where they were supposed to go and Laila did what she needed to do. She made sure they were okay and all that shit.
Anthony- that was close.
Me- yeah it sure was.
We went and climbed back on our seats. We sat down in them and watched out for everyone. Anthony- aye look there's nick and Brady.
Me- let's go say hi. We jumped down from our chairs and went to say hi.
Me- hey guys
Brady- hey Yn
I gave him a hug and did the same to nick.
Nick- how are you guys? And why are y'all wet?
Me- some people fell down in the water on jet- skies so we went to get them did cpr and mouth to mouth.
Anthony- one was checking Yn out
I punched his arm and said- Yeha right
Anthony- what he was.
I rolled my eyes and said- let's go
We sat down on the sand and watched the people.
Nick- so this is what you guys do huh?
Me- yup
Brady- I would've done this with y'all but ya know I needed to walk my fish
Me- ha ha ha very funny
Brady- thank you. Thank you very much.
I rolled my eyes and he said- damn Laila is hot.
Me- go ask her out
Brady- know what, Ima stop being a pussy and do it
Me- that's the spirit
He got up and walked over to her.
Anthony- you know she's dating right?
Me- let's just test her loyalty
Brady walked back and said- she said yes
Me- damn she ain't loyal.
Brady- what do you mean?
Me- she's dating
Nick- sorry bud
Brady- that bitch
Me- don't be mad at me
Brady walked off and I said- yup and that's what happens.
Nick- he'll get off of his high horse soon enough
Me- I know he will.
Anthony- didn't y'all date?
Me- it was fake. He wanted to piss off his ex.
Nick- which one?
Me- ya know I never asked but I think it was Erika
Anthony- probably Madi
Nick- definitely Sarah
Me- maybe idk he has dated so many girls it's not even funny.
Nick- he's a fuck boi
Me- you think I don't know that.
Anthony- well we should go back up.
Me- Yeha
Nick- see y'all later
Me- Leos at nine
Nick- I gotchu
He walked away and me and Anthony claimed the chairs and sat down. We put the whistles on and grabbed a megaphone.
Me- now this is gonna hurt so close your ears. I turned it on and said- hey stop fighting. Keep on and I'll ban you from here until you 18.
I turned it off and Anthony removed his hands.
