Chapter 5: the grand opening

As I got out of the car I grabbed a pen then was ambushed by photographers and press screaming my name and demanding statements. "I will give statements after the opening, thank you." I announced before walking down the fan isle. I uncapped my pen and began signing pictures for them.

I had done about twelve when I grabbed the next one and heard a deep voice rumble "can you sign it to Dom, Mia, Vince, Letty, Jessy and Leon!" I looked up to see Dom smiling down. The corner of my mouth curled up. "alright act like I'm having a casual conversation with another fan." i told him. He looked puzzled "why?" he asked. "the last thing you need is the press banging at your door asking questions. Just do it. Okay?" he nodded like a really excited fan. "so what are you doing here?" I asked smiling "admiring you in your stupid outfit." Letty said harshly "yeah my fear was looking like you so I went opposite!" I said sweetly "we're here to see you. Give our support" Mia smiled, interrupting Letty's response. I smiled back at her "alright. I HAVE to move on now, see you in the event, right?" Dom shook his head. "Nah, we didn't get passes, too much." Vince said. "stick around after everyone goes in and sneak round the back. I'll meet you there." I said before moving on.

After twenty minuets of signing pictures, I finally climbed the steps and stooped under the ribbon. The scissors were giant, and they were colour coordinated with the dress I was wearing. I picked them up and held them with both hands. There was a microphone on a stand so I could be heard clearly. "ahem, welcome to the longly awaited opening of my, Crystal Halls, gallery. I have been watching over the process and wish to say a thank you to the builders who spent their time creating a masterpiece of architectural genius. I also wish to thank the photographers who used their equipment to capture wonderful shots. Also to my family, friends and fans a massive thank you for believing in me and supporting me. Without you all I would be nothing!" I spoke as clearly and as nicely as I could.

My eyes kept wondering towards Dom and the others. "so now I invite you inside to explore the details of my life. The gallery is now... OPEN!" I announced, cutting the ribbon and watching it fall the floor in two halves. Then everyone surged forwards towards the doors where bouncers were there to check passes. I walked up to one and said quietly in his ear that I would need some passes for a few friends. He nodded and let me take some. I grabbed six before going through the hall and exiting through the back.

The gang was waiting for me. "here you are" I said handing them all a pass. "Follow me." I said before walking through the back door. They all followed me in and looked about in awe. I tried hard not to laugh at their faces. "Go explore if you want" I told them "I'll be talking to reporters for the majority of today and the rest I will be giving a speech before they bring out the food! You go ahead, I'll see if I can catch up with you later." I said before disappearing into the crowd. This would be a very long day!
