"Get up Mia! Rise and shine baby," I heard a voice outside my bedroom door. "Mia what are you doing in bed? It's 3 in the evening"! A familiar English accent cries.

"Uhhhhh 5 more minutes Miles," I groan tossing and turning, trying to recover from my awful hangover.

"Mia, common darling you promised you would come for drinks with me and the lads tonight," he reminds me. I wriggle under the covers like a vampire hiding from the sunlight, beaming through my curtains.

"Yes, yes, yes. I'll be there don't worry, I won't forget," I groan, my voice dry and croaky. I toss and turn covering the full extent of my body.

"Ok, be ready by 7 love, and there's some lunch for you on the kitchen counter," he plants a small kiss on my forehead and leaves my apartment, closing the door behind him.

I laid there for a while recalling what Miles had just told me. Lads? Drinks? Tonight? I brushed it off and groaned. If anyone new me like Miles did they would know I don't do so well with promises. And if you knew Miles like I did you would know that he would go as far as pouring a bucket of water on your head, just to get you out of bed. I would know.

"Mmmmm," I moan. I pull my legs to the side of my bed, realising I was only wearing my underwear and an oversized 1975 band t-shirt, just reaching my thighs covering under my bum.

I opened my blinds looking outside my apartment in Sheffield. Another cloudy day, well I guess that's expected since I live in England, but honestly I wouldn't have it any other way.

I rushed to the kitchen finding one of those gourmet sandwiches in fancy packaging waiting for me on the counter, as Miles promised. I had a few bites of it, before taking a refreshing warm bath. I used one off my favourite scented bath bombs. I searched for my towel, wrapping it around my body. My head was pounding, reminding me of the hectic night, I rushed to the kitchen looking for some aspirins.

"Urgh," I groaned, tilting my head back as I swallowed the tablet. I walked back to my bedroom, falling on my back, the sheets crumpled besides me. I searched for my iPod on my dressing table, lost in a maze of aspirins and and rappers of god only knows what. I closed my eyes, quietly listening to The xx, as I slowly dozed off.

*Buzz Buzz*

I woke up, searching my for my phone. Miles. 6:35pm. Shit! I rushed off my bed, ignoring the call. If Miles knew I still wasn't dressed I would probably have to face a few hours of listening to his speech of how to keep promises I make.

I quickly throw on a pair of my favourite black skinny jeans, and a simple white top that hugged my hips nicely, with a smooth leather jacket on top and a gold necklace to add some colour to it. I brushed my hair to one side, my soft waves falling into place.

*knock knock*

"Mia open the door you lazy cow, don't make me knock it down," I hear that familiar accent echoing through the doer again, and right on time. It didn't help that he lived just a few doors from me, but I can't complain.

"I'd love to see you try," I smirk, opening the door to Mr Miles Kane. "And who you callin a lazy cow?" I eye him, arms crossed over my chest. He looks me up and down, arching his eyebrow.

"What?" I snap. "Nothing, you just look so beautiful," he compliments me, showing me that playful smirk.

This is one of the reasons why I love Miles so much, he is like a brother to me. We're always fooling around like this, but we just get each other. I still remember when we first met, it was just after christmas and I was 14. I was in the park testing out my new camera and was just about to take a shot when he ran past my camera. He tried to act charming as usual, but we just ended up laughing together and ever since then we have been inseparable.
