"These books make merpeople out to be monsters" Andy scoffed as he reads another line about them sinking ships with their songs. Andy was aware that his ancestors had done it, having a deep hatred for fishermen and pirates, but now that wasn't the case. Yes, some of them still hated humans but they didn't use their songs to hurt them.

They used them to entrance them, making them direct their ships another way. "I know, that's the part I hate about these books" Rye states, turning the page "but I'm sure their songs were beautiful." Andy smiles, remembering his mother telling him about the day he was born. She said everyone sang with join, welcoming new life into the kingdom.

Saying that she hadn't seen that much celebration since her and his father's marriage. "Yeah I bet they were" he said quietly with a smile, turning the page. "Now that's just ridiculous" he snarks as he sees an illustration of a mermaid with three eyes and another with three heads. "It is, I refuse to believe this is how they look" Rye says, crossing his arms over his chest.

"How do you imagine they look?" He asked, genuinely curious as what his ideal image of them would be. Rye smiled to himself, leaning back in his chair, "I imagine them to be...well, beautiful." "I imagine them to have soft pale skin, shiny golden locks that would look like a puddle of gold under the clear blue waters, and ocean blue eyes that put even the ocean itself to shame."

Once he'd finished, he looked over to Andy with a smile only he knew was full of love, "I imagine that they look like you." Andy knew that he didn't know his secret, so he wasn't scared but he had a new feeling. A feeling that he only knew he had for his family but this, this was different. He didn't feel this way about his mom, or Brook, or his father or Celesta this was much more.

He loved his family, but he was in love with Rye. "Rye, your dad called and said there's a surprise for you at home" Kendra notifies him, heading over to them. Rye sighed, " I swear if he got us matching fishing hats, I'll hurt him." They began to gather up the books, hauling them back to Kendras desk so she could check them out.

Rye decided that the surprise wasn't that grand, so he and Andy stopped for more ice cream. The walked along the sidewalk, hand in hand like always, until they'd reached Ryes front porch. "We're homeee!" He shouts, taking off his shoes at the door. "Well it took you long enough, come here!" Hue shouts back from the living room.

Rye groaned, trudging in the direction as Andy followed behind him. "Dad, I swear if it's a-" Rye stopped dead in his tracks, Andy stopping behind him, he peaked over his shoulder. He stared at the woman that resembled Rye. "What are you doing here?" He asked, how attention only on the woman who sat a ways away.

"I wanted to come early for your birthday" she said, a smile on her face. She began to walk closer to her, stretching open her arms for a hug, frowning when Rye backed away from her. He ran to his room, slamming his door. Andy glared at her, he didn't know who she was but if she was upsetting Rye then he didn't like her.

"Andy, go check on him please and I'll be there in a minute" Hue says, stopping his glare of impending doom. He nodded, giving her one last glare before heading to Ryes room. "Rye?" He said softly, entering his room and frown at his position. He sat on his bed, his knees up to his chest as he buried his face into them. He carefully sat beside him, a sound of surprise escaping him as he suddenly wrapped his arms around him.

He pushed him back, laying onto his chest and directing his hand to his hair. "Rye, who is she?" He asks, threading his fingers through his hair like he wanted. Rye sighed, trying to snuggle closer to him, "my mother." Andy nodded, staying quiet as he could tell he didn't want to talk much about it, deciding to change the subject, "why didn't you tell me your birthday was coming soon?"

Rye, took his hand out of his hair, sitting up as he stared at him. "I didn't?" He asked in confusion, Andy shaking his head. "Oh well, I guess I got so use to you here that I forgot you didn't already live here" he states with a shrug. There was a knock on the door, Hue coming in slowly. Rye glared at him, crossing his arms, "why didn't you tell me she was here?"

"I didn't know she was coming with them." Rye looked at him in confusion, "them?" Hue smirked, "the twins and Robbie will be here tomorrow." A smile stretched across Ryes face. He missed his brothers dearly and although he's quite upset that his mother was there, he wouldn't let her bring his mood down.

"I don't feel like cooking tonight, let's go out to eat" Hue announces, clapping his hands together. Rye scoffed, rolling his eyes, "you just want me to forgive you." "Correct, get dressed" he says before exiting the room again. Rye walked over to his closet, picking out some clothes and dropping onto his bed.

"Rye?" Andy says, giving him a look that he's grown quite familiar with. "Were going to a restaurant, where you get food" he explains as he knew that he didn't know what it was. Andy nodded, thanking him for letting him know before walking over to his closet as well.

"Here, these will look nice on you" Rye says, handing him a white shirt, jeans, and a decorated blue jean jacket. Once they were all dressed, they met near the front door. "What restaurant are we going to dad?" "A seafood place." Andy froze, he didn't exactly know what that meant but he had a very bad feeling about that.
