Katia
"Shit!" I mumble under my breathe as I trip over yet another one of Jonathan's shoes. "Why the fuck are they just laying in the middle of the -" This time my foot strikes an unfamiliar object. A woman's stiletto.
"What the fuck is this?" I run my hand along the wall looking for the light switch. Light floods the room.
There is a line of clothes leading towards the couch. A noise catches my attention coming from my bedroom. The clack of my pumps echo down the hall as I walk towards the doorway. Cracking the door open, I see a woman riding my husband. But not just any woman. My best fucking friend of 27 goddamn years. Before I lose my mind, I snap a quick picture as my proof, because let's face it, this bastard is going down.
I shove my bedroom door open, slamming it into the wall.
"What the actual fuck is going on in here?! Are you fucking serious?!" I fling my suitcase at them.
They quickly scramble apart, Jessica screaming as she tumbles into my nightstand. Jonathan quickly tries to hide his hard member with a pillow while Jessica hides under my sheet.
"30 minutes. You have 30 fucking minutes to pack as much as you possibly fucking can before I come back. If you're still here when I get back, I'm calling Don." I stalk back towards the door, grabbing my keys and purse as Jonathon runs up behind me.
"Katia, it's not what you think. Please, stop. Talk to me."
"I just walked in on your ramming your tiny pecker into my best friend of 27 fucking years. How the actual fuck is that not what I think?! You know what, I changed my mind. 5 minutes. Get a suitcase of clothes and get the fuck out. If you are here a minute longer. I'll call Don. This is MY house. I'm so fucking glad that I caught you now. Goddess, how long have you been sleeping with her? You know what, forget it. I don't even wanna know. Hurry the fuck up and get out of my damn house."
I walk into the kitchen and rip open my liquor cabinet. Thank Artemis I had bought this bottle of whiskey before I had left. Even better, thank Artemis it's still full. I pour four fingers into my glass. I won't cry, I never do. Even when my mom passed. I just couldn't.
I sling my glass across the room, the crystal shattering when it comes in contact with concrete accent wall. Checking my watch, I see it's been more than five minutes. Stalking toward my office with a fresh glass, I see Jonathan and Jessica standing in the foyer.
"Seriously, why the fuck are you both still here?" I stalk over to them, already pressing my phone to my ear as it calls the head of my security. "Hey Don. I need a hand. Jonathan and Jessica are to be removed from my property and banned from coming back. I'll explain when they leave."
"Baby, Katia, please. Don't do this." Jonathan begs.
"Maybe you shouldn't have slept with my best friend!" I shove him towards the door. "Get the fuck out now."
Turning towards Jessica, I stare into her pale green eyes. "Why? Why my husband? Why couldn't you have picked somebody else? Oh wait. I think I know why. 'Cause you're nothing but a two-faced cheap whore. Fuck off. Both of you."
My front door swings open as Don enters. He takes one look at my face and knows what's going on. He grabs them both by the collar and escorts them out. After the door is shut, I walk into my office. I sink into the chair that is well worn. My mom's scent surrounds me. Goddess, I miss her.
I sit in silence for a few minutes, finishing my glass. As I set the empty glass on the desk, my cell phone rings and I dig it out of my pocket.
"Don called. I'll have the papers ready by lunch. I just need to know, did he hit you or cheat on you?" Sylus, my other best friend. Thank Artemis she's gayer than the gay flag.
"Cheated. I snapped a picture before I lost my shit. I'll email it to you. I don't know how many times, but I know the pre-nup only states once." I shrug, feeling a bit defeated. "While you're at it, email me those merger papers so I can take another look at them. I've been putting it off because of Johnathon, but I think I'm gonna go ahead and move forward with it. Send me the CEO's contact info as well. I want to meet with him, without our lawyers swaying the convo. If we're going to be running a company with this man, I need to meet him on a normal pace level."
"Oh thank Artemis. Email me everything you can think of leading up to the moment you caught them. Things that you noticed off about his behavior or his routine. And those papers are in your email now." A few clicks and few moments later, an email digs on your laptop.
"And here's his contact info." My cell dings in my ear at an incoming test message. "He's actually been wanting to meet with you, but then your mom died and you were so busy taking care of everything that he just told me to wait until you were ready."
"Sylus, you're really the best you know. I am so glad you're gay." A little laugh escapes me.
"Kat, who did you catch him with?"
"Jess. Of all fucking people, right? It's so cliche. Cheating on your wife with her best friend." Shaking my head, I sit forward and opened the email. "Call me when you have the papers ready. Love you."
"Love you, babygal. We're going out tonight so wear something pretty. Oooooh wear the blue dress." Sylus suggests, before hanging up with no response from me.
I studied the merger contract, pretty standard except one thing needed to be changed. Jonathan would no longer be a part of any of this. I stared at the contact info for my new partner.
"Let's get this meeting scheduled." I dial his office number, figuring that would be the safer bet.
