Into the Shadows

Chapter One

Time passed as normal as it possible could by being in a rogue wolf pack. But I feel completely and utterly different, it was bitter sweet, I was in agony and nobody in my pack even realised. 

Yesterday was my seventeenth birthday, the day I finally shifted and the age where I can identify my mate. 

But it was also another day at school. ugh. I tried to skip school but my pack would know that the Alpha's adopted daughter was trying to hide a secret as I never missed a day at school even if I was "sick".

Today was the worst day ever because it was a Monday, yep, that means first day of school in the week, I decided to take my motorcycle as it would be a convenient getaway "car" if I met my mate today and need to get away quickly. I rode my motorcycle all the way to school I missed breakfast as I woke up late, and now I think about it I'm going to regret it.

I arrived just it time for school and I had to be a ninja and quickly but quietly park my bike and stand in line.

*grumble*

Damm, I knew I would regret skipping breakfast.

*grumble*

I was getting a few odd stares from people around me and there in the corner of my eye I saw the best sight I could ever see, my best friend, Samantha. Like me she was also a rouge.

"Are you okay "  She mouthed to me I just gave her a sympathetic smile and gave her a thumbs up because if I move my mouth I know my teacher will catch me and say I'm talking even when I'm just moving my mouth and no words are coming out, so I'm just playing it safe with the thumbs up. 

Even though ordinary pack wolves see rouges as beasts and soulless killers, we are still a pack and look out for each other.

All the students were starting to head to registration which is us sitting at our desks and doing one of two things reading the most resent news or reading our books which we are meant to bring we have an policy called "E.R.I.C" meaning  Everyone Reading In Class   I know it sounds stupid but I can't change the rules if I could there would be no school in the first place.

First period is PE ( physical education ) but Samantha is in it so that's fine, its freezing here I am wearing shorts and a short sleeve top while the teachers are wearing trousers and six layers of coats       its not cold        well at least I'm not an Eskimo and I've got to do this for two hours it is pure and utter torture.

"Hey don't you look hot" A voice said behind me, turning I see my friend Hunter, who is utterly sexy. Too bad he is not a rouge, the pack would like him so much more.

"Hey you don't look to bad yourself" I replied with a smirk and a wink.

" Why thank you your Royal highness" Hunter said, flirting back. We both start laughing.

"Oi you two love birds stop talking and do two laps around the pitch that will teach you not to talk in my lesson" Miss Kat yelled at us

"Yes miss Kat, but I do have to say you are looking very nice today" Hunter yelled back, he got an evil look from miss and that signified trouble. I pulled on Hunters arm and we started our run. We ran the first lap with ease but I was but I was competitive and was turning this into a race. 

I won, as per usual. Rouges rule/ Pack wolves suck.

"So I was wondering if you wanted to hang out with me after practice tomorrow"  Hunter asked smoothly.

"Yer okay jock nice joke, lets start moving quicker or miss Kat will have our heads on a spike and say to our packs that everything is fine"

"No babe I'm being serious do you want to hang out with me after my practice session tomorrow" He is very smooth but what should I say I dunno what would make me sound less of a bitch.

"Ok but this is not a date and don't call me babe we are not dating or anything you know how I feel about boyfriends, ill meet you on the bench once school is finished I'll wait for your practice to be over" I walked away shortly after, before he can reply.

That went quick now its break and I cant wait to tell my friends, I see them all by our normal meeting place, which is under the benches near the sports field.

Including me there is three girls and one guy, who is gay we all accept him and that does not change our friendships he is very nice and cool and its actually pretty cool having a gay guy as a best friend because they will tell you the truth about anything. The best thing about our group is that we are all from the same pack and know everything about each other.

"Hey Aaron you ok" I walked up to him and gave him a hug then turned to my girls.

"Beth hows your mate, Sam stop staring at that book or your mate will never find you as the jocks over there that could see us at any given time and one could be your mate"

"Good babes and he said hi" Beth says and we all start cracking up as Sam puts the book down and joins us.

"That's a good thing don't know what is wrong with you so tell us what is making you so happy because since you came into school you have not stopped smiling and that's a bad thing we know you are you planning something are you gonna kill one of us and you need us all to watch---"

I stopped mid sentence as I smelt something amazing coming into my nostrils, It smelt like cinnamon and cotton candy, looking over to the field to where the smell came from and seeing two pairs of eyes looking back at me.

My wolf screamed at me though my head, my heart and wolf swam with delight about our mates, I have not one but two mates, oh no. As I was stuck in my thoughts my twin mates were coming closer towards me, panicking I had to get away before something happened.

"I have to go, those two boys coming here are my mates, I need to get out of here, help" I said in a rant and in one long breath.

"Go, we got this" Beth reassured me, Sam and Aaron both nodding their heads, I'm so blessed to have them as friends. Then I ran away to my bike to leave.
