It was raining and here I was without an umbrella to my name. Getting soaked more and more with each step I take on the side walk trying to get closer to my apartment as possible. Which is going to be a while.

God how I'd really love an umbrella right now.

I had ways to go before I reached my destination and at this point I'll catch a cold.
For crying out loud it's about a 30 minute walk! I'm fit an all but it's cold and getting windy.

The most irritating part about this that my car broke down so it's in the shop. Not only that they said there would be no rain tonight, and it's the middle of April so I thought I was in the clear tonight.

Not too far ahead though I see a liquor store. Looking at the time it's just 30 minutes after 12am and since the walk is thirty minutes I'd get home some time after or at 1 am.

I'm familiar with this store and if I'm correct they close at 1am. So I'm in the clear to go in to see if they some umbrellas since it's so close.

I know what your thinking, isn't it too late for an umbrella? Your already soaked.

Well yeah but again at this rate I'll catch a cold and this rain doesn't seem to be letting up no time soon. It's hitting the concrete harder and harder as time goes by.

Finally reaching the store after a couple of minutes. I walk in and was greeted by the store clerk. Whom is really like family.

" Hey Hun! Omg , your a soaked mess". The clerk named Ms. Johnson says to me taking in my appearance.

I had on a purple jacket that came down to my waistline, black jeans, and a pair of black ankle boots. I would of been happy that I even brung one but too bad the jacket couldn't help me because of the cotton material, so the rain soaked right through. Even my hair was soaked, making my hair almost fit the frame of my face.

I give her a small smile then say

" Yes I am it's raining hell outside and lucky I do have on boots. And I also now have trust issues with the weatherman." I said and she chuckles.

I've been going to this store since I first started working at the bar 3 years ago when I first started my freshman year of college. So me and her are very much close. She's the one that told me that the bar was hiring.

" Well were closing in about 15 minutes, I could give you a ride home if you like" She said

As if I'd decline , there no way I'm going out there when I have a free ride right here! I think the gods saw my problem and gave me a blessing.

Chuckling quietly at my own thoughts I tell her yes and grab the umbrella to purchase.

" Oh hun you don't have to buy it, it's on the house" she offered but I declined.

" No I'll pay for it it's the least I can do since your giving me a ride home. So thank you". I tell her giving her a smile of my gratitude.

" Okay dear, Knowing you, your not taking no for an answer". She said as she does the money count in the cash register after I pay her for the umbrella.

" Here's the keys hun, you can go and warm the car up. I'll be there shortly." She said handing me her keys.

I nodded at her and walked out the store and then pressed the unlock button on the car so I can just hurry and get in the passengers set.

Getting into the car I started it up and turned the heat up. The wind was blowing harder making it more chilly than it was before.

After about 5 minutes I see Ms. Johnson locking up the store and heading towards the car. She hops on in the turns the windshield whippers on and gets the car started and backs up.
