"Okay, now we've covered the very basics, let's get on to some get-to-know-you games," Leo said brightly.
"My name is Leo, I have weird fire powers that are a bit different than regular firebending, and I build stuff. I'm really good at it, actually. Now, Percy will give you two things about himself, and we'll go around the circle."
I rolled my eyes to heaven and back, but it's not like it was a terrible idea. I just hated feeling like I was in school again. "Right. So, my name is Percy, I can do an altered form of waterbending, and I'm a pretty good swordsman."
"Iroh, your turn," Leo said, looking at him expectantly.
"Is this how you usually do things in the Spirit Realm?" Iroh asked. "I typically like to ease into these things through a conversation."
"We would, but me and Leo are special," I admitted. "We get distracted so easily that we like to just get the important stuff out there before the conversation gets derailed."
"I see," Iroh said, stroking his chin.
"Not everyone we know is like that," Leo assured him. "Our trainer said that it happened because we're hardwired for battle, so it's hard to stay focused on something as uninteresting as a conversation."
"We also can't read very well, unless it's in a language that probably doesn't exist here," I said.
"There's honestly a lot of things about us that might become important someday, but I don't know what they'll affect, and we have some secrets we should probably keep," Leo said with a shrug. "Like, I always tell people about how I can build and repair things, because it's useful a lot of the time, but I usually keep the fire quiet unless we really need it."
"Oh hey, speaking of fixing things, I'll bet Leo could fix up your ship before we reached port, and then we would be able to avoid some awkward questions," I realized, standing up. "We should go check it out. Leo, do you think you could do it without buying new supplies? Like, could you just fix the damaged parts, or would you need to replace them?"
"That depends on the parts that are damaged, but I could definitely do a surface job to at least hide the damage until we could properly repair it," he said excitedly. "Is there somewhere you guys could take me to look at what I need to fix?" he asked, turning to Iroh and Zuko.
"Alright, you've proven your point," Iroh sighed.
"Point?" Leo and I said in unison. "What point?" I asked.
"It was Iroh's turn to tell us about himself, and he asked why we couldn't ease into it... Oh, right! He thinks we were trying to demonstrate how easily we get distracted," Leo said. I facepalmed.
"Sorry," I said, sitting back down quickly. "Go ahead."
Iroh shook his head in disbelief. "You mean that wasn't on purpose?" he asked.
"Not this time," Leo said with a grin. "We tend to be pretty good at distractions when it comes to stalling for time or getting someone too powerful for us to defeat themselves."
"Ooh, did I ever tell you about Nyx down in Tartarus?" I said, grinning. "Annabeth was brilliant."
"Please, regale us with the tale later," Iroh said, now sounding amused. "I believe you wanted me to tell you about myself."
"Right!" we said at the same time. I leaned forward, closing my mouth determinedly.
"Well. My name is Iroh. I am a former general, and I am very passionate about my tea," the old man said. "Now, nephew, is there anything you feel they should know about you if they are to travel with us?"
