Chapter 2: This has got to be a bruise to his ego

Grayson Kent nearly had to wipe his jaw off the floor as he watched the most beautiful woman he had ever seen enter the ballroom. No doubt had his date seen his floored expression when quickly turned in front him grab his attention. He looked at her and smiled but couldn’t stop himself from glancing in the woman’s direction, only to see her kiss Charlie on the cheek. He would make it his sole mission tonight to find out everything about the beauty that passed him. No one could resist Greyson Kent.

No doubt later on during the evening had he made his way to Charlie Graham. Smiling he reached for the man’s extended hand, “Charlie, of course another event no one can aspire to compare to.” “Grayson, I should hope so” reaching for the man’s hand in return. Turning his attention to the woman beside Charlie he held out his hand, “Grayson Kent and you are?” Smiling, Lara extended her hand to the most gorgeous man she had ever laid eyes on, “leaving” and with that she turned to walk away but not before kissed Charlie on the cheek and departed with, “See you Monday Charlie” chuckling, so typical he thought, “No doubt you’ll be in the studio tomorrow on a Saturday”. With a knowing smile, she left.

Shocked and almost frustrated that he could get the woman’s attention he turned to Charlie intent on getting some answers. Never has he been turned down by a woman. He knew he had the looks, no one could fault any woman falling at his feet, but this was a first. ”Charlie who was that?” Grayson was unable to hide the shock in his voice.

“Nuh-uh, Kent: It’s a masquerade for a reason.” Unable to hide the amusement in his voice he turned and walked away, leaving Grayson Kent’s mouth hanging open. Wow, he thought this has to be a bruise to his ego. He was sure that no woman had refused the rising star of the silver screen and by the shocked look on Grayson’s face he was right.
