Pacing around my living room frustrated, I cannot believe I was so stupid. How did I not know it was him? How could I not tell that Dominic Carter, the scariest gang member at our school, was the one I saw last night beating on some random person.

Dominic and his friends are all in the same gang, they are like shadows because no one sees them in the hallways or class, they just appear.

Rumor has it they got arrested for working with a notorious gangster overseas, but I think that was a bit exaggerated. My phone vibrates with an incoming call. I took the ringer off after last night. Cannot have any more possible deaths.

"Jinnie! It's him!"

"Well, hello to you too." Jinnie chuckles.

"Jin the guy from last night, it's Dominic."

I listen and I hear a faint sigh of panic coming from the other end. I tell her about my run in with him twice in the hallway and the chase after school. She assures me that he does not know who I am or my name so the odds of him ever finding me is slim to none.

"Okay but he saw me, Jinnie. Like face to face less than five feet, so cannot he just look for the same brown hair, blue eyed girl who stared at him like an idiot?"

"Well when you put it that way..." She says. "Okay wait! You have never seen him before today. So, the chances of him seeing you prior to today and remembering your face again is probably low. Right?"

Does this mean I will have to play hide-and-seek at school now?

Do not be ridiculous. Dominic Carter would not waste his time trying to find you.

Why wouldn't he?

Make up your mind! Do you want him to find you or not?

"You're right Jin, I think I'm just being paranoid. I am going to get some homework done. I'll talk to you later."

It is been 4 hours and I finished my 10-page research paper for history that is not due for a month. I decided to take a break and make something to eat. I take a frozen pizza out of the freezer and pop it in the oven. I am too lazy to try to cook something up tonight. After setting a timer, I look towards the calendar hanging on the wall.

Two more months. My parents should be back right before Christmas after doing their trip to Ghana. My parents are both doctors and they travel all over the world to help those who do not get the proper medical care. Their trips are usually just a few weeks long, but this one was extended since a few other doctors could not make the trip.

While waiting for the pizza to be done, I log into my Socian account, it is a newer social media site, and look through the news feed of the ridiculous stuff people from my high school post. Curious, I click the search bar and type in, Dominic Carter.

His profile popped up and right away his picture caught my attention. He is leaning against a brick wall, looking off to the side, allowing the sun to hit his face at the perfect angle. The image is black and white, but there is so much coming from it that you would think it was full of color.

No one can deny that he is hot. If you deny it, then you are obviously blind. Zooming in on the image, to get a clearer look on his face, I notice he is not smiling, but rather his lips are set in a fine line, showing no type of emotion.

I guess I have been staring at his picture, well more like his lips, for too long that the oven timer went off, scaring the crap out of me.

I feel a rise of heat go to my cheeks trying to shake the images of his lips on me out of my head. I open the oven and go into the drawer looking for the pizza cutter. Lifting a slice, the melted cheese stretches until that last string snaps off from the rest of the pie.

With two slices on my plate I reach into the fridge and grab a soda can. I head back into the dining room and begin eating. As I was eating, a new message popped up on my laptop screen.

Dominic: You stalking me now?
