Description: A girl named Cassie Sutton-blonde hair, blue eye. She meets a Duke Barton, a vampire, during the rough times of her life. She falls herself into a struggle trying to help him. Trying to solve the problem, she finds that she had already...
Duke is a vampire. Vampires have special abilities, which include sharp senses. If there was a human in the woods, Duke would've been able to sense it long before. But in her case, it didn't work.
He concentrated again, but all that he could hear was the lead of her pencil scratching against the paper. Moreover, if there was a human around then his cravings would've increased a hundred times stronger. Instead, he forgot his thirst for a moment. It made him feel like she didn't actually exist.
" What is she? " Duke thought for a moment.
After finishing her drawing, she flipped the book shut.

" Cassie Sutton. " Duke read in his mind.
Cassie packed her bag, stood up, and walked away.
" I'm able to hear her footsteps. But - "
Duke who couldn't control his thirst for another second, went for the snatch and sucked out the last drop of blood from the squirrels. After he finished, he wiped off the fur clinging to his lips and started walking in the direction Cassie went.
As he walked he resumed his thoughts.
"But, why couldn't I.....it's...it's weird. Could she be a ghost or something? "
Duke brushed his fingers through his hair and pulled it into his fist.
" Dammit Duke, you're thinking crazy. Ghosts, they are just stupid stories - " Duke said to himself.
He put his hands back to the pocket of his jeans and halted.
" Wait a minute[he continued], I didn't know that vampires were real until I became one. "
He gulped thinking about his past. Kicking a stone on his path, he started walking again.
" Today morning, I woke up seeing a witch and I also know some werewolf personally. So, why couldn't ghosts be real too? " Duke thought, as he walked onto a clearing.
There, on the side of the road, he finds a board written ' WELCOME TO WOODDRIFF '.
" Wooddriff. " he furrowed his eyebrows. " I've never heard this name before," he said, rubbing his clean-shaven pointy chin with his fingers.
As he was standing there with his back-pack loosely around his left shoulder, he saw a mini truck approaching Wooddriff. Without any hesitation, he lifted his right hand with a thumbs-up signal. The truck slowed down. A bearded man around 40 wearing a grey cap smoking cigar, popped his head out to scan Duke from head to toe.
" You look new here. " keeping the cigar to one side of his mouth.
" Yes, I'm Duke. "
" Hope on. "
Duke got on the mini truck and sat quietly. He didn't even bother to ask his name.
" You seem to be a silent guy. " the truck driver inquired, breaking the silence.
