In the Ark there is no point in fighting. There are only two ways it will end, you are either thrown into the skybox or floated. Fighting gets you nowhere, it will only cause you more pain and suffering. Because at the end of the day you're going to get floated. I know this because fighting got my parents floated.
I was born in the skybox. I had never been out of it, but when I finally did it was just to see my parents get flooded. Harsh right. I mean spending your entire life in the spike skybox is one thing. But seeing your parents get flooded at the age of six is just traumatic enough. I never thought the council would sink this low, but then again, they've probably done it before
Ever since my parent got floated, people have been looking at me differently. Maybe it was because my father had black blood and my mom was one month pregnant when they floated her. Maybe it was because I killed multipole guards whilst trying to get out of my cell. Or because I electrified council member Kane for saying it was my fault my parents got floated. Or because my name meant light-bringer in Latin, which is kind of absurd because nothing about me screams light. Or because my mom was 8 months pregnant with me when they threw her into the skybox, for a crime she didn't commit. Hence me being born in the skybox.

Today is the day I get floated. The day I reunite with my parents and my body is blasted into oblivion. You might be wondering how I know this, well having your dads' best friend as a head guard of a station had its perks. I was so distracted by my thoughts; I didn't even hear the door to mine and my friend Nathans shared cell opening. I looked up to see Sargent Miller coming through the now open door.
"Dad, what are you doing here? Nate grumbled as he woke up from his nap. I knew that something was wrong, just by looking into his eyes. He always had a happy look on his face. But now it only showed pain and regret.
"I-, Just as he was about to answer, four guards stormed into the room.
"No wait, you said I could have five mor-, but he didn't get to finish his sentence as he was knocked down to the floor with a syringe visible from his neck.
"Don't do anything irrational, and nobody will get hurt", what looked like their leader said.
From the corner of my eye, I saw Nate trying to get to his dad but stopped when I gave him a look saying, "don't fight them".
"Hold out your left hand", one of them spat.
"Why?" I asked.
"I will not repeat myself again," He said, I could tell by the sound of his voice, he was getting irritated with us.We held their hands out and they put metal wristbands around them. The guards put us on our knees and sedated us. The last thing I saw was Nathans body crashing to the floor.
